*UPDATE* PSP Quake w/ Targus universal wireless keyboard support vid |
Ó
And just to clarify, says penpvdbs, rein4ce gets the credit for the PSP Quake IR keyboard code in the first place. penpvdbs used the debug version to map the Targus keyboard so it could work with PSP Quake. All in all, it's a team effort with everyone doing their thing.
The PSP Quake w/ IR keyboard support mod has received much appreciation from the PlayStation Portable (PSP) homebrew community. After all, that's Quake on your handheld units, how can you top that? Well, maybe with a similar mod. Homebrew coder penpvdbs dropped QJ.Net a note saying that he has made the game compatible with a Targus universal wireless keyboard.
Take note that the file is not yet available as of now because the coder is still using a test version. penpvdbs also added that before releasing a public version, he and reinf4ce would like to implement a few features like hardware rendering and a menu option for different keyboards.
So for the time being, the download below will provide you with a document file containing the mapped chart on how to use the Targus keyboard with PSP Quake. And as a proof of concept, the video clip below has also been provided by penpvdbs.

***** I wanted 2 be first xD This guy chinese or sumthing?
Wow, this is pathetic. What's the point of having a massive, IR keyboard hanging on to the PSP for dear life. How the ***** is that even portable? Remember kiddies, it's the PlayStation PORTABLE. It's not a *****ing console you keep in your house. Again, I make better ***** than this in my toilet.
All I know is I want that keyboard.
Looks very cool but I don't have a targus wireless keyboard. Anyone know what one would cost?
I have this keyboard for my PDA. I'm so glad I got it, it was only . I wonder what other things you can do with it, other than Quake and web browsing.
there is portable in psp for a reason!! if you want to play quake with a keyboard why not just use your pc or laptop? and which pocket would that keyboard fit into?
I have this keyboard for my PDA. I'm so glad I got it, it was only twenty dollars. I wonder what other things you can do with it, other than Quake and web browsing.
lol now it time for an IR MOUSE to be added so you can truly play Quake like a PC.
I'll be impressed when they get a mouse working with the psp. Keyboard? Big deal...
Well I have not got a IR keyboard yet. But we do have a shop called maplins that sells a cheap IR keyboard for palm/Pocket PC for £14.99!! I dont know if it will work but i could give it a try as thats the only one I can find for sale in my town!!

$20 at most I got mine for 15
funny english.. :D what about the official PSP keyboard, any news??
Stfu, your birth was pathetic.
For the french guy JTE RESPECT TROP lol tu traite les autres dimbecil pi la majorité des englais comprend po un mot haha bande de cave!!!! ok that has no sence what i just said but that the way i do it muaha and i hope i can get one of this keybord
how you can call a portable keyboard for a portable console useless or "pathetic" is beyond me i can think of many uses of this for my psp, and many times that i could use it outside of my home. and it dosn't 'hang on for dear life' it rests on the stand like any PDA. and you can continue playing with your own **** in your toilet, while ill be on the train playing Quake on my PSP with a keyboard
WOW, a free next gen console. Get a free Playstation 3, Wii or 360. No spam and its not a scam. Its easy, you'll have your PS3/Wii/360 in no time! http://NextGen.Giveaway.co.uk/index.php?referral=199014
Anyway, always fun to see what the PSP can do.
Cool, i did that aswell, i got a wii. Trying for a Ps3 now.
I'm sure you'll be playing it on the train, you lying *****.
