I would just like to take the time to thank all the developers who have contributed to the scene, and im not just talking about D_A here. We must not forget all the others who played a big part in sticking it to sony, such as BOOSTER. Although people may not use devhook as much now becuase of CFW's, but regardless, BOOSTER kept me beliving when I thought all hope was lost. And even beofre that, the orginal big steps - MPH Downgrader, what a legend, UMD Emulator, (how could you speak of the greats, without mentioning humma?). And then, theres the rest of them. You may forget, but all this hacking isn't a lone soilders game, its a community, catering for every need. Whether is be a new firmware exploit, or just a simple homebrew game, its still something to be thankful for. So before you go flaming dev's for releasing things you might not think you need, or complain becuase they aren't fast enough, just think for a second; they do this for you. Your not being charged, they just do it becuase they are the upstanding people which we see. So I would just like to take this time, and say a very well earned thank you to the entire homebrew scene, you have made the PSP what it is today, forget Sony, this is where the true talent is at. How much flash memory we all have left. I think the total is like 23 MB. And I have about 2 MB left. Originally I had a lot less but if you keep your bg's and delete the network update permently it frees up space. Anyway, how much more can Sony do? Unless they start finding ways to... (I don't want to say 'compress,' but for now I'll use that) all the information on the flash so far. It may be minor tweaks here and there, but as for a major update, what could it possibly be.

DAX, and such--you are truly great to keep up the efforts. After receiving a used PSP two days ago (which heartbreakingly had been updated to Sony's 3.10), I started reading up on Homebrew. What a scene! People get really passionate about it! I am patiently waiting for the downgrade for 3.10, and will rejoice the day when I can enter the homebrew world by merely playing Contra on my PSP. Again, to all who make the scene possible--thank you! As an afterthought, I would like to find a way to "hard" downgrade from 3.10 now that it has been decrypted. While this is a burgeoning scene, it still has very limited net resources! :)

I have 2 MB because I deleted non-important PRX files (to me) and all my bg's are black, yadda yadda. Needless to say I got spare space. The average person who does not tamper, or for the sake of argument, does not have homebrew, does not have 2 MB of flash space left. Maybe someone with a non-customized PSP can tell me how many KB they have left, I know it's not a lot. So 2 MB of flash space is a lot? Yes. ...500KB.. not to much.

I'd like to say that DA has done well so far, and not creating a new CF until there is need to is a good move. Although some people will hate it, it's still, in my opinion, a very good idea, because he deserves the rest.

Sony is going to change it up in the future.

Sony has already started compressing and re-organizing system infomration throught the flash structure. The higher up the firmware ladder we go, the less we will be able to customize.... eg custom gameboots (already effective in 3.10): you cannot change your gameboot on the flash.., you have to redirect to mem stick acess with a 3.03 decrypted file. your gameboot will not display properly without the correct pmf in place (original one). no more custom web link on instruction manuals. No more custom topmenu icons. Soon no more custom bootsound, or gameboot. soon no more custom waves. IMHO.

Need an update

I am on 3.10OE-A and i need an update because when i play my splinter cell essentials UMD and ISO both start and goes past all the credits but gives me an error when i try to get to the main menu. This has never happened b4. Also my metal gear solid portable ops ISO don't work on my PSP. It worked on 3.03OE-A for some reason. I have tried diable no umd and enabled. tried both but it still won't load mgs po ISO, it just gives me a black screen and crashes. I like playing ISOs because they are faster than UMDs.

I ended up with an extra 1.5 MB of flash space by taking my ltn0.pgf, making a copy and renaming the copy to gb3s1518.bwfon and replacing the actual gb3s1518.bwfon... Sony had set up a few polls, asking what features we think the PSP needs the least... one choice was the locationfree player... if they delete that, they will have plenty of room for more features and... security. And if they DO delete locationfree and use the space for better features, we'll be screwed cuz there won't be enough flash space to keep 1.50 + the new FW with the new features... but there's some things, like languages, sony can't delete from their firmware but I can to free up space... I sure don't need the japan or korean languages :D

It really was a pity cos I myself always liked playing it safe before and would attempt to run it in devhook 1st before attempting to flash. Now days, you can still test the majority of things (gameboot, bootsounds, fonts, debranders, etc...) out in Devhook. But now have a small risk again running it on the currnet FW we currently are running. Although your chances are extremly small. It's like what others say. "If it runs in Devhook, it should run in CFW". If you don't mind me asking. Why did you ask? testing/educational porpuses? or just used to emulating FWS?

Brick Story

I bricked my friends psp yesterday trying to install 3.10 0E-A Hopefully it installed recovery mode first i put a slightly uncomplete DATA.DAXR File and semi bricked my friends psp... put the the 310 flasher in the recovery folder along with the right daxr file and bam 3.10
