There is hope: PSP-3000 has TA-090, Dark AleX working on it |
Ó
The Slim TA-088 v3 motherboard may be unhackable for now, but the TA-090 certainly isn't. And guess what? Good news for the PSP community: the PSP-3000 has a TA-090! According to Dark AleX's webmaster Alek, the PSP-3000 has some sort of protection the Slim doesn't, but they're working on it.
According to a post by Alek, the PSP-3000 battery "can't be modded to a Pandora-hard-fashioned-Style," although both the Slim and 3000 batteries have the same 3-pin configuration.
They are still trying to figure out whether if it's a new version of the TA-090, or whether it's the same one found in the Slim. Having found that the PSP-3000 doesn't even boot with a Pandora battery, they came to the following theory:
Having in mind that with a Pandora battery it doesn't even boot the PSP, it could be possible that there are some other hardware patches on the connection Battery-PSP. Even though, some tests are needed to be made before making this for sure.
This will explain the fact that when using DC7 or Pandora, the PSP doesn't even turns on. (Remember, on 88v3, it hangs up with the LED enabled and with no action)
So what does this all mean? It means there's hope that the PSP-3000 mobo is hackable, but there are still some issues to work out. And once again, the future of PSP homebrew is in the hands of Dark AleX. We'll have to wait on him for further developments.

Com'on, 7 jumps and no posts?
First, *****es.
DAX ROX.
Well.. There is no perfect system. It always has a flaw in it.
So since the original TA-090 spotted in the wild was hackable, does this new board effectively make it a TA-090 v2?
man, i remember back in the day with all them good old fashion exploits and downgraders. no worrying about the motherboards (for the most part.... son of a ***** ta-082's) All they had to do was make the psp run a 1.5 updater via a little code oopsy by sony. that was the day. drag drop downgrade and you were done. non of this crap. ALL of this ***** is because of the ONE A**HOLE that leaked DaX's source code. thats when he had to go m33 instead of oe to keep out of the lime-light. After that everything has started to become harder. the m33 firmwares were the first out with no 1.5 kernels built it and they had to have all sorts of number of revisions because of the bugs from sony's protections. its all because of that SOB..... now realizing that sony was a helpless little 5 year old before that got a hold of DaX's code, they NEVER themselves figured out a way to stop the downgraders themselves, nor thwort and CFW developments. So i think that this time is no different. I do however predict that the first way to hack this 3000 will be a slight motherboard modification such as a short out whille booting pandora or something of the sort, nothing to bad. But ill just wait... it'll happen...
I see the god of PSP hacking has returned...
All Hail Dark-AleX xD
sony arent stupid
and they have more resources than the home developer
so what makes you think they didnt download DAX's original code themselves and reverse engineer it.
and the TA-082 came before the leak
TA-082's came with 2.60 and up
code that was leaked was 3.40
you fail
Keep it up Dark Alex your a hero ! this has given hope 2 the homebrew community ! I'm learning as much as I can now so I can be a Dev and help u out woo ! power to the people Boo sony 4 trying 2 shut us out .
DAX
THIS IS FOR YOU::
Imagine all the new kids getting a new PSP-3000.... it being their first PSP.... and as soon as you hack the MOBO, then they'll fully realize the potential of DEVS like you!! You will inspire a brand new generation of DEVS that will praise your work just as the current PSP owners do now.
TO THE FUTURE!
You have to admire the man's work. I only worry that his success will kill the platform for developers. Sony has bet the house on an unhackable PSP, and if they fail, the game is well and truly over for the platform. (Trust me, I know people in the industry who have avoided the system entirely down to piracy who will be reading this thread with baited breath).
Never have I been so torn about the future of a system.
Not to start a flame war, but maybe the community would be better off if CFW was limited to the 2 previous systems, even if I myself would love a hacked 3000.
Maybe sony blacklisted the 0xFFFFFFFF battey serial number or it has the same protection scheme as TA-88v3. I currently have a TA-85 Slim, but I also want a new 3000 model. I might buy one now in hopes that DAX will save the day sooner rather than later.
Dunno why you got voted down, but I'd be willing to bet it's a simple serial number change. After all, it's the same battery/mobo; a different syscon chip with a different serial number would do it quite easily.
There are so much problems with your comment...
Go DAX Go!
i was thinking of getting a 3000 model for the same hopes as you have.
this is the hardest choice in my life: go for a 2000 or a 3000....?
I have faith in you! If it is not possible then its okay.
DAX is a miracle worker and in progress as well
Hoping to add the 3000 to my collection of Phat, Slim, and 300 respectively
guess i'll just put my lazy ass to work 4 that extra dough until DAX hacks the 3000...."smiles"...and the beat goes on
i must say, Dark Alex is a really a genius guy and partially to his crew of course..., and i really thank him for his great efforts uncracking this thing,
well i just hope he will find a cure for this great problem, and if that would come true im gonna buy a new psp 3000 for Christmas!...
We must have faith on him and patience for waiting...until then DA keep up the good work!...
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
The only thing is...Hope...keep up the good work DX.....
BUt I want u people to remember this.....pls buy the game if u do like....thats what I do...if u dont like screw that...
Buy the game so we can play the game..... for century!!!
Mostly I take the CFW for emulation :D....N64 and GBA and other stuff....and home brew game of course its awsome
Security systems can be perfected. Its just maths. If you do it right, its uncrackable.
i posted on lan.st that i thought 0xFFFFFFFF was blacklisted on the TA-88v3 until i found out pandora does work, just the IPL's dont.
it makes sense
keeps it easy for sony
hopefully its something dumb like sony written in HEX or something stupid like that
I would hope that my PSP can be mob.
but that doesnt mean i wouldnt buy any games. I would still buy those games i like as a support to the makers
That's just me
I have a fat psp and a psp 3000.
now the question is why psp 3000 does not boot with
the pandora?
there are some new hardware patches made to the motherboard and that's not letting boot the pandora but if dark alex the big god of psp can modify the serial number of the pandora it whill be hacked for shure.
ex: 0xFFFFFFF instead 0xAAAAAA.
the cpu will let pandora work because if u put the fat battery on psp 3000 he boots up but if u put the fat battery to pandora with the charger pluged he goes to the xmb but if u unplugg the charger the psp3000 goes down.
so my theory is that sony have put something in the cpu to not let the pandora work. they have black listed the serial 0xFFFFFFF
Let's get Fanjita on the phone!
