Remember that video we posted last month? It was a teaser featuring PSOne (PSX) games on two player mode - on a PlayStation Portable. Quoting StoneCut (the owner of the clip), it's "magic". And it looks like AhMan is looking to make more of that magic.

StoneCut came by the QJ PSP General forums to share a video AhMan made showing PSOne games on two players on the PSP via ad hoc Wi-Fi connection. The video shows that yes, both PSPs are running the same game (Super Puzzle Fighter, FTW).

StoneCut mentioned that this is still very early in development, "it's not even in beta yet". That may be the case, but the video shows just what we'll be getting in the future and the wait will be well worth it.

Anyway, check out the video and feel free to tell us what you think. Enjoy!

This is awesome!

This is so cool! I've always wanted my two player PS1 games to be played in PSP VS PSP! Looking forward to it!

Very Nice.

This looks pretty sweet! I can't wait to get my hands on it. Ahman does great work. Plus, I know Stonecut has been in on IR Shell for a long time as well (beta testing at least). This will probably work great when they are done with it. It seems like it could be released right now.

Mixup

QJ, AhMan is the only developer of iR Shell. I don't contribute code.

?

How come the white psp's power light nor the wifi light is on?

very interesting

So how does this work? Do the two PSP's run the game separately, sending the controls to each other, with some magic to make random numbers the same? Or does one act as the host which runs the game itself and sends the screen and sound back or something?

!

AhMan mentioned that it's a third party faceplate and the holes don't line up properly with the LEDs.
