After the thunderous success of Dark_AleX, Mathieulh, and Harleyg's TA-082 downgrader (which is pretty much the Holy Grail of the homebrew community">homebrew community at the moment), DAX has now decided to release the source code for the said downgrader under the General Public License or GPL. According to DAX,
I don't want to keep the ta-082 downgrade as a secret, i think this information has to be public, for future use in higher firmwares.
As it is released under the gpl, any modification to the code will have to include the source code.
So there you have it folks, here's the code. Use it well.

solid, now all we need is someone to make a downgrader for firmware 2.81 please please please.
I wish that ahman would do the same for irshell for 1.50 and 2.71 so someone could continue his work on his OS. He recently retired. :(

Since this source is released, y not 0okm release his source code for 2.80 downgrader. Then hope for one developer to combine the two sources and poof! TA-082 2.80 downgrader! Hopefully... Time waited for this downgrader: A lifetime :(
using Ookm's generic 2.80 to 1.50 downer couldn't you replace FW150_ipl for FW271_ipl maybe rename it FW150_ipl and use a 2.71 dump instead of 1.50 im thinkin as long as you dont use under 2.50 firmware it should work......shouldnt it????
someone hurry and make a downgrader. then i can put on ebay!!! hehe
taken from the release notes of the 2.80 to 1.50 downer this is what makes me think it may work , 0okm failed to put any checks in the downgrader. In simple words, this means that the downgrader won't tell you if you're missing a file, nor will it tell you if you've placed them in the wrong place. so swappin 1.50 files for 2.71 sounds like a possible solution to me
although i have a 2.71 TA-082 FW PSP (and havent used the downgrader yet) i think your on to something and since 3-4 other ppl did, i can safely predict that you and others will hear something about it soon, probably b4 new years even tho its the 29th hahaha, Dark_Alex, Noobz, or Ookm never cease to amaze me. Ps- thanx to Dark_Alex for the TA-082 downgrader...
how long do you think it will take until firmware 2.8 with ta-082 be able to downgrade to 2.71 ta-082? I'm pissed! I originally had 2.71 but upgraded to 2.8... not i find it theres a downgrader.. i'm so sad :(
You could try the solution mentioned in above posts, altough it's very experimental..(+high risk of bricking), but I agree that it seems like it should work.
proof, if it were ever needed, that ookm is a bull*****ter and is not a 'psp god' as posted on QJ scriptkiddie more like.
theres no tools readily available to get the FW271_ipl.bin it seems :( the dump is easy enough but the prx folder stuff is the challenge for simple file file replacement
Cool so we just handed to Sony the source code of the util that could serve as basis for future downgrades, revealing every shred of loophole we got and avery bit of the thought process that lead to this. While they may have the recources and hardware to learn exactly what makes this util work, do we need to serve them the answers on a silver platter?
Maybe DAX has more surprises in his pocket? do you really think he would just release something without thinking? I think he has found a better/alternative way to do this, and he released his original way, Thats all.
Everybody with TA-082 boards should donate to Dark_AleX for spening his time more on this then christmas.

there is alot of users with ta-082 and fw 2.80 just like me, we need a downgrader and you guys can do that! come on pease do that for us! we need a 2.80 -> 2.71 DG! PELEASE
