PSP SNES Emulator

Laxer3a has posted the following information about the next version of Snes9xTYL. Snes9xTYL is probably the most advanced Super Nintendo Emulator for the PSP which lets you play SNES homebrew and Roms on your PSP system from your memory stick. On his forums he had the following to say about the next release:

  • Bug fix has been done for the SRAM.
  • Improvement for the frame skip.
  • Complete new menu system.
  • Improvement over the ME handling.
  • Multiplayer
  • Ability to switch between the player on a single console.
  • Text viewer
  • USB support (you dont need anymore to quite the emu to connect to a PC and exchange data on the mem stick)
  • SPC Player.
Thanks for the heads up, Echizen!

» Release?

No mention of a release date unfortunatly. My gawd... the masses are waiting for this no doubt.... I AM!

Keep it up Yoyofr / Laxer3a / whoever else is involved. To date (I believe) there is only 1 emulator that supports wifi.... SMS. Why there aren't people working on wifi nes, gb, gbc, etc... I'll never know...

by Illegal Machine - 2006-04-25 06:13
» but will it be able to?

Use the D-Pad AND the analog stick at the same time?

and will it allow you to do custom controller configurations for each rom?

thats what I want to know, because the earlier releases sure as hell don't

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-25 06:14
» Can't wait!!!

Hey No. 9! Two player adhoc NES and Megadrive are already out...go check em out!

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-25 06:19
» To Illegal Machine

Man, don't be such a nagging ***** & be grateful we're gonna get 2 player adhoc soon. Besides what you're asking for is something very small wich you can shortcut your way into a matter of seconds by using the O button in the settings...sheesh!

» The troof

Id like to be excited about this release but i have to say, unless it becomes even CLOSE to full speed (at least in my eyes. So far, for ME, nothings been playable. CLOSE but not really.) with audio, im not. We need speed and playability before features. Great job so far tho.

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-26 00:08
» ??? any quest ???

hi i am looking for snes emu for my psp ver 2.6 but i culd say it work maybe in sha allah but i am saudian

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-26 01:13
» Hmmm...

I know one thing, when this emulator can play starfox flawlessly, THEN it'll be at full speed...lol.

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-26 07:38
» ^^^

Which will never happen... but playing Yoshi's Island / Stunt Race / Starfox (of course) at full speed would be the bullocks.

Well, this emu was already God-like in stature. I remember when they said this version was due out in a week... that was about a month ago o_O. I've been sweating bullets everytime I've checked this page since! LOL

Keep up the good work, yon awesomely-outrageous devs.

Where can I go to get this dynamite homebrew??

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-26 16:13
» Very nice...

I demand this be released now! Heh.

Seriously can't wait for this guys, good work. Is it gonna be compatible with 2.7?

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-26 19:18
» Patch or whole new thing?

Will I lose all my save states if I upgrade to this?

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-27 00:36
» just a thought

is it too complicated to develop an emulato that can stream a game to other psp's so that you can play multiplayer with one psp with an emulator, say using the game sharing ability. and maybe with that you can play emu's on other firmwares. cause there are a few ppl at my school with psp's but are just too dang stupid to understand how to put homebrew on theirs. and they always ask to play my homebrew games

we have been getting updates since febuary and it looks finished, what is taking so damn long?

by Mog - 2006-04-30 06:58
» patience...

Well the time gap between 0.2c and 3.0 was over 7 months wasn't it? (now that was too long! o_O)

It's only been about 3 months at the most so far since 0.3...

So be patient or DIY!
