Quick HEN update: pic of gpSP running on a PSP-3000

First things first: No, Davee hasn't finished the HEN yet. Which means it isn't out yet. What we do have today is some visual confirmation that the HEN can indeed run emulators, in this case the GBA emulator gpSP. Here's a pic posted on Davee and Bubbletune's release site:

gpSP on PSP-3000 - Image 1

Yeah, it's just a pic, but it does show progress. Now let's all just keep waiting patiently and not hurry the man up, shall we? The scene as a whole has been doing a good job so far of being patient, so let's keep that up.

*Update*. Just a quick one. Bubbletune has posted this clarification in the comments section:

No, it wasn't posted on mine and Davee's release site... It's just been uploaded to the same server because Davee needed a place to upload it. I can guarantee you I had nothing to do with this picture. ;)

» OMGZ!!! CONSPIRACY!!!!

I can see the doubters now: It could just be a picture from the XMB!!!

Hope it's released soon, would be sweet to finally have some decent 'brew on the 3000....Even if I don't have one....

*waits until E3

No actual proof it's a 3000. You can easily swap the buttons on a PSP.

by leo9891 - 2009-05-02 12:46
» wtf?

ok i've heard of "swapping faceplates" but now you can "swap the buttons"? hmmmmm yeah it really does make sense that the "Home" button on the 3000, can be put on the 2000 without it showing the outline of the original 2000 "Home" button...

» Enough!

Well i am feeling very bad for psp-3000 and ta-88 v3+(except ta-90) since, they've been waiting for this nearly a month....all i can say is this HEN thing is kind of like a showoff, it all started when they said they are gonna release it on Monday(week before) and now they are just posting these things like a teaser....WTF!

oohhh it must be so damn hard to switch the buttons because we know ***** about mods like vu-meters, internal cameras, speakermods, add 94651 leds mods, dual nub mods, and so on.

» Dax where are you?

All i know is Dark_Alex has been very quiet lately and he's always come out to criticise someone when he thinks it's a hoax, so the fact he's said nothing makes me think it's genuine.

» question

Since I dont have a 3000 I have a questions:

can CFW can be installed?

If it can....what can the PSP3000 do as far as CFW means?

by doubleaa25 - 2009-05-02 15:03
» Uh... Impossible?

Yea. How can it be possible? The PSP-2000 and 1000 home buttons are like a semi-circle, and PSP-3000 is a oval. I don't think u can replace those... and replacing buttons? I don't think thats possible either.

But then again, you have a point. All the buttons on bottom of PSP-3000 should be an oval (as I remember). The Select button in the picture is kinda hard to see and tell if its part of the PSP-2000 or not.... well, maybe its possible. We will see!

by KylBlz - 2009-05-02 15:12
» you guys are all noobs

You can replace the face plate AND the button strip from a 3000 onto a 2000 core. They may not work properly because the strips are different [eg. microphone and different size plugins] but sense its a picture its purely about aesthetics.

At any rate, a bunch of people are being jerks and saying its fake, well, its REAL dumbasses...

» *something here*

Question 1: CFW cannot be installed as of now. This HEN will lead to a downgrader and CFW etc..

Question 2: N/A

by Shabbypenguin - 2009-05-02 15:35
» this will

Allow devs to load programs that will help them figure out the pre-ipl so that they can run cfw on them

you dont need downgraders anymore since they can just directly flash to whatever cfw they need...

It's worth the wait...

by Woden501 - 2009-05-02 15:36
» @ KylBlz

I was wondering if this could lead to a downgrader or not. I've not really looked into the homebrew scene of the PSP since I got rid of my 1000, but now that I've picked up a 3000 I'm hoping that it'll get opened up pretty soon.

by akadewboy - 2009-05-02 17:05
» It's always been like this

The homebrew scene has always been about show-offs. It's just that the scene has died way down and you're starting to notice it.

by astaroth001 - 2009-05-02 17:39
» tnx

thanks guys...all I needed to know...still not a buy for me than XD

by JaXeRiR - 2009-05-02 19:36
» Omfg..

Seriously, if this was fake why would someone waste loads of time by changing the buttons and whatever, when that could easily be just a normal picture of Pokémon Sapphire shown from the Photo menu..

But considering that this update comes from Davee and Bubbletune, I am 100% sure this is real

by Aces In The Palm - 2009-05-02 20:23
» HEN will NOT lead to a downgrader

its not a PSP-1000

a downgrader will be pointless on a PSP-3000

it will lead to a way of installing CFW when preIPL checks have been sorted but NO DOWNGRADER because NO 1.50

Well exams are coming up pretty much next week. If Davee manages to release this anytime soon and manage to have time to study for exams I'd be quite impressed.

by doubleaa25 - 2009-05-03 02:22
» Hey. I think its real.

Im not debating whether its fake or not. I believe its real 100%. Its just I wanted to know about Faceplate/Buttons. Thats all.

by gr8tlegend - 2009-05-03 06:02
» pointless

y waste time arguing if its real or not? just keep ur panties on and ur fingers crossed. Patience is a virtue.possibility thats i could be a screen shot . u can replace the home button with a playstation button.but i think its real . I hope its real. and if i'm wrong I don't care I'm not going 2 waste time arguing? I look fwd to the hen and CFW PLEASE!!! but what will happen when the new PSP is released.

by djman855555 - 2009-05-03 06:05
» yea

i won't believe intil its released. suppose to have came weeks ago. but like every other fake dev he delayed and has shown videos and photos. i hope its real but won't be shocked if fake

I swear, a person can't write one comment online without all the gays coming out flaming.

by djman855555 - 2009-05-03 07:49
» uh

i don't care if its real or not. i bought a 2001 model and hacked it. so not gonna get a 3000,4000 and whatever else comes out in the next year. they make to many models to care about.

» No what we need is

support for M33 updates, and of course Dax to 5.50 M33.

by RocSqualie - 2009-05-03 18:46
» hmm

if you've been keeping up on what Davee posted on a certain forum you would know that he is really against piracy so don't expect to see ISO or POPstation support for 3000

by tobyo1 - 2009-05-03 19:17
» JPEG image?

It probably is a PSP-3000, but one picture is useless, we need to see video of it running with the dev showing us him pressing buttons and the PSP responding. This could easily be just a JPEG screenshot displayed on the PSP. Anyway, I don't really care about the PSP-3000 hacking scene, these updated SKUs are stupid and Sony's bad attempt to combat CFW. PSP-1000 FTW, best PSP. Anyway, I hope you guys who do have a 3000 get it hacked, I would not like having a homebrew-less PSP.

by Aces In The Palm - 2009-05-03 20:31
» well

i dont see why he wouldnt add popstation support

why should you pay twice for a game you already own

i understand not adding iso\cso

but seriously, sony should of released a popstation tool themselves.

thats why M33 firmware rules.

by Aces In The Palm - 2009-05-03 20:38
» thats because

you're comment was unfounded

he's already proved his HEN survives the reboot.

this is merely proof of his HEN running homebrew on a PSP-3000.

remember we already know the tiff works on PSP-3000.

by Aces In The Palm - 2009-05-03 20:44
» lol

i see shabbypenguin and myself have been downvoted by some idiot.

so i will gladly give $100 (US) to anyone who can tell me what purpose downgrading a PSP-3000 firmware would be.

try using pandora to downgrade your slim to 1.50 and see what happens.

it bricks.

do you really think sony would go backwards and add 1.50 to the PSP-3000.

you'de have to have rocks in your head to think they would.

so the challenge is right there, one reason why a downgrader would be needed on a PSP-3000.

by du.der.icio.us - 2009-05-04 03:19
» Don't rush the man?

He brought this down on his own head.

He said that it was going to be a few days.

Talk about setting unrealistic expectations.

by _YOUR_MOM_ - 2009-05-04 08:39
» @ m3rox

Because *****s like you fuels the flaming.

btw, me bid u velcom. Welcome to the internet

by Woden501 - 2009-05-04 13:33
» Whoops

I don't know what I was doing when I made that last post, but you're right Aces it didn't make much sense. What I was actually thinking when I did that was just that it would lead to CFW... hm... I need to be getting more sleep than I have been.
