PSX-P creator">Yoshihiro, as promised, has released the second version of his PS1 emulator, PSX-P. The first release brought a lot of controversy as it "resembled" PacManFan's PSX emulator (beta) that was released previous to the first PSX-P release. Amidst all the previous controversy, Yoshihiro has agreed to release the source of this new version with the release. However, this one is not without its own controversy. An hour before it was supposed to be released (officially), it seems to have been "leaked" and many have downloaded it. However, no one is certain if this was the official version and our current reports show that it is not.
However, here at PSPUpdates, we respect all developers, and have patiently waited for the official release. MaGiXeN from PSPGen had the "honor" of hosting the official version, and we just obtained it. The first noticeable change is the increase in speed. The exact increase (percentage-wise) is unknown, but many have reported an increase of several frames over the previous release. This version also includes your basic frameskip option, and has increased compatibility from the initial testing reports. Using the "leaked" version, Darkstone has compiled a video of a PSX game in action (download the emulator below the video) -

I see alot of people complaining, speculating, flaming, and being generally too lazy. Yeah. You have to register at the original french site to download it. Or you could assume these links to the free download sources are good instead of brickers. You downloaded the free file from the free link, now your PSP won't boot, don't you feel smart for not wasing time registering? That's what you get. Look around, the file is on dozens of mirrors, forums, and sites. Took me ten seconds to find it on a site I was already registered at. Or, you could wait until it's hosted at dl.qj.net so you don't have to register. Yes, it's slow. Yes, compatibility isn't great - guess what? Source is out now. I guarantee you, it won't take long for people to whip that sucker into shape from here.

PS1 uses ISO's.. not roms...
Obtain the games legally by buying them from your your local shops or ebay and convert your original copies to isos yourself. Downloading roms/isos is illegal.

thats the beta compatability list... there is yet to be a compatability list made (or updated) for alpha-2

Intelligent Cube runs perfectly, except for that it is slow. This is a huge step forward. I love this game and I would love to have it with me portable. Keep up the good work!

Actually, after all the fuss about the alpha build, potential code plagiarism and whatnot I was rather sceptical. It's good to see I was in fact wrong. This is a slap in Sony's face. If developers' community manages to get it up and running at more reasonable framerate (I understand it's an early build now) before the official emulator is released with 3.0 firmware... then we, homebrewers, would officially own Sony. I'm going to give it a try in some free time. Respect, Yoshi.
If anyone has ever ran epsxe on the PC, they will know that you wont get the sound until its running at full speed (IE: 50 fps for pal | 60 fps ntsc) Especially if its one of the gran turismo's your trying to run The fps and sound are linked, (unless of course you have a game like wipe out 2097 that lets you play the sound tracks from the CD in any normal CD player)
I guarantee you otherwise, the source code proves that all of the interesting emulation work is in the things he's ported. If people were interested in whipping a PS1 emulator into shape they would have ported/improved their own a long time ago.

I don't see a reason to sign up for this site I'll use once just to boost their user list. Signing up for sites like that are just as worthless as paying for a program that converts files into a different type. (Mp3 to wav, ect.) There's way too many of them, not many people do it, and I really hope they just cut the *****. If it actually had a reason, I'd consider considering it.

' it's not a little girl, it's aeries/aerith (spelling..) depending which translation of the game you have you don't fight 'to' ex-soldiers, you fight two soldiers.. to say you miss the game, you remember very little about it..
some guys claims ff7 not working but it works but slow. well i put ff7.ccd , ff7.img and ff7.sub into PSP>GAME>PSXP>ISO>(my 3 files here) n it still playable in 2.71 se-b" custom fw.
tat why i say i miss the game...too long to remember the game though.

That's not right dude, it works for me fine - surley you did something wrong somewhere along the line, although it doesn't even write to flash so how I do not know. Unlucky buddy. As for the chump who said that's what you get, go get bum f**ked ***** - I don't see the point in signing up to a forum that I aint gonna use again, maybe you don't mind, but some people don't see the point, specially when the forum aint in they're own language which prooves the point even more that it aint worth their time. Dont bother, its more hassle than its worth! tried bomberman world and driver! hardly the most demanding of games! No sound, runs like a sack of *****e! whats the point? PSX iso's are big files on your memory stick! 700mb+ then driver crashed! ***** that, I'll use proper emulators that have sound and run at a decent FPS. Avoid! Ps. It runs on 2.71 SE b"' thats if your interested! my advice is wait until you see how it's improved x50 percent with sound and compatibility! when the sounds added, bet it runs even slower ike most emulators! WTF.............................
seing the video, its already running much faster than the deadalus, and is perhaps 10fps off full speed

ive aquestion does the emulator writes to flash if i select "with BIOS" or can it brick the PSP
so how many emulators can you name that were running on their first and second releases, casue i cant think of many. it'l get faster trust it may be slow but at least it works, that means its only going to get better over time, it runs games at about half speed on my psp which aint that bad for its second release. so stop moaning and give the creator some credit, nob jockey.

Hey guys, tested this and it does work faster, however it's still way too slow to actually play any games yet. Fingers crossed for future versions. Fot those who can't read french, How *****ing stupid are you not to be able to find the registration link and confirm an email for download privledges, I mean how are you going to find the bios files if you are that thick...
is there a way to load the isos for this from a computer, rather than have them on a memory stick?

this is not a final release, just an alpha, lol not even a beta so dont think ur gonna play with sound and high framerate. yes it's said you need the bios for some games but some might works better without and no it doesnt brick ur psp, it's like the gba bios with gpsp, not like ur psp bios. ff7 works but u have to waited the loading, kinda long...

okay im new to all this, whatever. I've downloaded the psx-p and eloader all that, I go to game, memory stick, then psx-p and the lil video of it comes up with the sound and all that. So it works I guess, but I'm lost as to where to install the actual ps1 game at, or where to even get it =/
if you want a portable Intelligent Cube you could try I.Q Mania(should have the original ps1 version plus more)... but i know thats not the point you were making.
Just tried it out using Crash Bandicoot on FW 2.8 using the new eLoader. It tries to load it, Memory Stick light flashes a few times then about 30secs later the PSP just turns off. From the video it looks sweet! A little slow, but it can only get better....
Sorry, I should have thought before I posted. My BIOS was named wrong. Its actually loads, but its quite sluggish for me. Nice work. Also: no audio support? I know this is an alpha, but just wondering if it my PSP or not but I dont get any audio.

It's complete Bull ***** that the file is hosted on a non-english site that we have to become members just to get the file and can't even understand the sign up because it's in another lang. WTF! HOST the File on an english site at lest.
On my PSP: -Silent Hill: crashers at the KCET screen. -Resident Evil 1: black screen. -Resident Evil 2: R1 dosen't work. -Red Alert: Works slow. -Z: Works very slow.
The emulator works with 2.8 but you need a "PSX BIOS" to load a ISO it works slowly but you can play some games

SOTN works for me i made the iso myself from cd maybe if you figure out how to make an iso it would work for you. making an iso outta a scratched cd isn't worth it though

yo peeps i got a problem i tried to downgrade my psp and i exdently turned it off when it was in the red screen now it wont start the power led is on but the proceror led is off.help me is my psp broken and has any 1 had the same problems??? help me plzz how can i fix this????
