Good news for the travel-savvy PSP owners, in case you're waiting for word on Deniska's latest MapThis! version. The coder is letting the guys know that the GPS navigation application's version 0.5 has recently been going through internal testing, and is almost ready for release.

And like the "voice prompt" video from before, Deniska updated today with a new teaser video to let the guys know about another feature that's been added - 3D Mode:

As for Deniska's notes on the video via DCEmu:

I used the arkon mount that attaches to a vent (came bundled with gpslim 236)
It does not work well with psp-290, but...
The holux receiver is behind the odometer panel - you can see the cable going to it...

Stick around in case we hear more from Deniska, or this much-awaited MapThis update.

One day... MapThis! will be the ultimate GPS app ever to be created, it owns so much by itself right now, and now the 3D crazyness is just going to make it tha tmuch better. Getting maps right now are pretty simple, I wonder if tihis will make it any more complicated.

So the GPS receiver obviously works outside Japan... I never knew that. With the GPS receiver on the PSP, youll never get lost...

In short, is it more likely that I will have to make my own maps, or will I just be able to download maps for areas like NY?

# no you dont...Guest 2007-08-10 15:42
no you don't. Because the psp is the most advance AI robot in this universe that can extract the air content in the surrounding area, and process and calculate the quanity of different types of molecules and determine your location by the precise differences in our atmosphere... therefore you don't need a GPS receiver.....

you idiot, he meant do you need the PSP-290 for this program to work. The answer is no, you can use other receivers, check Deniska's webiste for details.
