Homebrew - jpcsp v0.1 revision 912 - Image 1Shadow and the rest of the JPCSP team have released a new version of their Java-based PSP emulator, which can run commercial games.

No detailed changelog was provided with the download like the last release, so let's just take it for granted that it's better. Their Google page says that r912 "fixed system time (nano-> micros).

The download archive has demos, patches, ms0, and flash0. Be sure to go through the readme for instructions on how to run the emulator.

Also down at their site, Shadow says that they're porting JPCSP to C++, called PCSP. It's faster, but it's not as advanced as the Java emu so it can't play commercial games yet. Here's the changelog:
  • Added debug for unknown syscalls, now it will also return the name
  • Prelimary work on plugin configuration dialog. Still not useable
  • Added prelimary RTC module support. (rtctest now works, some other demos might behave a bit better)

Very cool. I'm glad to see a PSP emulator, and I hope the project continues to go well.

By "commercial games", I'm guessing it means ISOs of those games?
