PSMonkey N64 Emu Update - Textures

Ó

In case you missed it before, PSMonkey has been working like a dog to create an N64 emulator for the PSP, and today he has updates his personal blog with some development information. Below we have screens from two games, Bust a Move 2 and Mortal Kombat Mythologies, which definitely show texture rendering progress since his latest build. Although there's still a lot of work to be done, it's nice to see that last weeks random pixels are starting to take shape. Before you know it, PSMonkey could have his emulator displaying proper images at low frame rates, which would definitely shut up a lot of the naysayers out there.

Any idiot knows dreamcast will never be emulated properly on psp, to be honest, n64 is wishful thinking, but my fingers are crossed. Calling this amazing work 'shiit' is ignorant, an you should be ashamed of your own stupidity.

Last year at a certain point, programming any emulator at all was impossible, and then playing games that require firmware versions higher than 1.5 without upgrading was impossible, so was creating a chat program using LUA and a Neo Geo emulator at a decent frame rate, and the porting of PC games like Doom and Quake at a decent frame rate with full sound, as well as causing the PSP to interface with a GPS device...the list goes on. All of this has been done by various programmers already.

From my perspective nothing is impossible on the PSP, it may take a lot of work and some near genius levels of programming experience but the bar has been repeatedly raised by homebrew programmers and porters and there is no reason why programming can not improve now.

If nothing is impossible, then let we all start with a PS3 emulator :P

No serious, Nanosoft_YP, damn you should be really ashamed, somebody is working so hard and the only thing you can call it *****. Well if you can do better show us.... or else shut up and show some respect for people who work very hard so that we can do more with a psp then only the things that sony give us.

# hahaha dc emu on psp :Dtwelve 2006-03-17 00:51
Nanosoft that is priceless a DC emu on the PSP. Just think about that for a minute.

The PS1 emu is running at 5-10fps this is running slow too. How slow do you think a DC emu would run my guess is less than 1fps, almost certainly lower than 0.5fps

What a genius.

I'm working on an xbox 360 emu for PSP and it will also play PS3 and Revolution games, when you pause it it will run to the kitchen and make you a coffee, when you put it in sleep mode it gives you a massage. And it also runs on the upcoming 3.0 firmware as well as the unknown of 3.5

Yeah thats right ive got a very active imagination like nanotech. Plus I might be insane.

# sooo... about that massage...Guest 2006-03-21 17:43
do i have to keep the psp on and wait for it to go to sleep mode or is massage an option on the main screen and also a fridge so i wouldnt need to get up to get to the food would be nice... but no need to put it all on one version you can just put them up as you program in new things

ps: psmonkey i cant wait until the n64 emu comes out me and my fan club all have t-shirts we are not taking off untill its out

pps: you are right on top of my favrot programer list just above the guy with the 360/ps3/revolution/ massage/¿massage?(that one sounds like a bit of a wait)
