Official Firmware 4.05 decrypted, CFW 4.05 M33 coming soon? |

Whoa, that was fast. The PSP Gen team has announced that they have decrypted Sony's official 4.05 firmware update. You can check out the picture to the right for a look see.According to the team, not much has changed since 4.01. The team has expressed doubts that Dark AleX and the rest of Team M33 will provide an update for their custom firmware. Still, pending an official update from the team, there's no reason to dash your hopes just yet. At any rate, we'll be sure to keep you posted.
The PSP Gen team will be releasing a PSAR dumper for the firmware real soon, so watch out for that one.

i doubt team M33 will waste time on making 4.05-M33
its more probable that 4.05 GEN will be released soon.

M33 likes to release new versions only when major updates are made; GEN seems to do the smaller updates. I think it's going to stay this way for a while, as GEN didn't make a 4.01 version.
GEN isn't awesome like M33. they did 4.01 M33 in like a week.

M33 forever until they stop making cfw, then i will move onto GEN or whoever else is making it at the time.
Will Pandora still work with 4.05? I wanna see what's new even if it's not much.
Pandora will ALWAYS work.
Sony has already made PSPs w/o the capability off creating Pandora so who knows if soon the firmware will block it.
The pandora doesn't even touch the fw when it starts up, you can even brick your psp and render it inoperable, yet with the pandora you can tell the psp to boot from the memory stick.
Even if sony could make a feature with their firmware to "block pandora", it wouldn't work cause of several rules here, one, pandora doesn't touch the fw on the psp, it JUST reads from the memory stick when booting. Even if they could block pandora (which they can't) you could just brick your psp intentionally (you know, pull the battery when they say to not pull the battery) and it would kill the fw, then pandora would work.
When the 3.50 lumines hack came out, it was within 1 day that sony released 3.51 that blocked the security flaw. If sony could have done this, don't you think that they would have done it, a longgg time ago?
I fully understand and I know Sony purposely allows cfw. We all know what they say to the press and release on their website but coming from a business stand point......I would allow cfw because of the intell we users of cfw send out onto the net. It's hard to explain but it a certainty that they allow cfw.

I know that this update doesn't have any major updates but it would be nice to have the new Vis. I use my psp alot for my mp3's and it's been bloody ages since that was updated. be a shame to have to wait till a major new feature is out before people using M33 can get that. Hopefully Dax and the team will make 4.05m33.

Well, this update does not have any meaning for all users but Japanese user. With Japan region setting, The OFW 4.05 provides new feature for TV function (One-Seg TV) such as a programable video recording upto 8 programs. (currently only 1). I think many of Japanese users are hoping for CFW 4.05M33.

Remember, this is the method SONY uses to unbrick PSPs.
SONY uses pandora to unbrick PSPs that people send to them. Therefore, pandora will always work and they won't block it. They don't have another way to unbrick.

i already tried that and it doesnt work with copying movies and tv shows from the ps store
