Noobz joining forces with FreePlay and MaTiAz to further develop GripShift exploit |
This is great news! The Noobz Team has confirmed that they will be joining forces with GripShift-exploiters MaTiAz and FreePlay to further develop the said exploit!Says the team of their gameplan:
The exploit already includes an SDK to allow porting of homebrew by devs, but that's cumbersome. Our initial focus will be to make it easier to run standard homebrew via this exploit, by adapting eloader to it. This will be restricted purely to user-made homebrew, since there is currently no public kernel-mode exploit that could be used here, and compatibility is likely to be patchy due to the security measures in the later firmwares which make determining all the syscalls almost impossible. Still, you can expect that at least some emulators and other popular pure user-mode homebrew will run. Beyond that, if anyone finds a usable route to kernel-mode then a HEN and downgrader ought to be doable, but we're not focusing on that at this time.
As I said, great news! Don't bug them about timescales, though. Everyone's apparently very busy at the moment, and there's obviously a lot of work to be done. Here's wishing the new GripShift team to making all homebrew dreams come true on the PSP 3000!

I remember how freeplay hated it when I told people to visit money making sites such as www.gimmicklessgpt.com/register Luckily, FreePlay hasn't yelled at me for a while for doing that. BTW, has a lot happened in the PSP community since February 07? The only major news was the new revisions of Despertar Cementerio, right? Not much else, ya?
Just wait for Pandora to be released. If I'm not mistaken, I think it'll be released April 17, 2009. Assuming everything goes to plan. It won't support custom firmwares yet, BUT it does allow you to go into service mode and install an official firmware (though the community is working on making a iso loader type program). Have fun!
I guess you have to be careful with people you first meet. I had a bad first impression of FreePlay commenting on the powder tool homebrew. I thought he was an ass because he was a noob or useless to the dev scene or something. Glad to be able to change my mind about that. Great job guys, you too FreePlay, keep it up so I can finally complete my psp collection, I got phat and slim, need 3000!

why have a downgrader if you get HEN going, why wouldnt you use HEN to put CFW in directly and what purpose would downgrading a PSP-3000 serve anyway. probably would have a lowest usable firmware al a PSP-2000 and ta-082
