MyPSP Touchscreen: final proof of concept |
Ó
Homebrew developer ccspspita, the guy behind MyPSP Robotics, has released the final version of his proof of concept for a fully functioning touch screen for the PSP. It's pretty similar to other touch screen projects before, including the working one from jube808.
The touch screen add-on has three components: the touchscreen itself, the controller, and the connector, all pictured below. Any chance we'll see this go into mass production so we can see some ported DS games?
Thanks go out to sbrillon1 for the tip!

Comments [refresh]
i'd defiently buy one. great work ccspspita!
it used a headphone jack, so NO sound!
But still, NICE DONE dude!
I just wonder where it will be used for. If i can emulate DS games on my psp with this thing I would definitly get this even it would be $20.
First of all a workaround for the sound has been developed for the motion add-on so why not for this ans second of all there is no way this will be that cheap.
What do you mean? Its just a third party touch screen.
The psp screen has a LCD + Backlight sold for $30 including free shipping (im a reseller, I fix peoples psps screen) and because i buy wholesale, i get a bigger discount.
BTW, the Nintendo DS Screen is like $15 with LCD + Backlight + Touchscreen.
Touchscreens aren't that expensive. But I really hope this is REAL and no FAKE, and that they are going to copy and sell it.
nice
Thats true but they will have to make it look nice and provide an sdk for developers. Also is this a replacement for the screen or a touch panel that goes over the screen?
just buy a DS :(
PS: puro norte
i actually saw this touch screen ad don quite some time ago. it actually goes above the faceplate i think, hence why they have a modified clear case cover over the psp in the first picture to hold the touch screen in place.
Um yeah if someone wanted a dumbed down kiddie hand held with almost zero media capabilities then go ahead buy a ds. On the other hand if you want a kick ass psp and would like to add a touch screen on top of all its other features then this is the way to go.
Watch datel take this thing and market it as their own.
