Heroe's Empire 0.2 Brings Empires to the Small Screen |

Inspired by the much beloved Age of Empires II originally made for PC, this homebrew game acts as an early attempt to bring that classic game experience with you on the go. While it may not have the most complete feature set, (hence the low version number) this title does offer gamers a peek at what could be a totally awesome portable gaming experience.

If you're an AoE fan or just a RTS junkie, Heroe's Empire seems like a development that might be worth your time. As is customary with most games in this genre, the object of the title is to create and sustain a virtual society while raging a full-fledged war against your sworn enemies. Throughout the gameplay, you will first have to spend time collecting enough resources to build up your fleet, and then attack when the time is right. Of course you will be offered a series of objectives to complete along the way that will give even more incentive to the gamer as well.
So what's in this particularly young port attempt? While the English translation is a little bit rough, from what I can see it appears the graphics in this iteration have received a little bit more polish than the previous release. Also, some of the missions that had previously been incomplete proofs of concept have now been entirely finished as well. Lastly and most importantly, the barracks is now a buildable item which means you can actually begin to create an army! While this version shows a homebrew that is still very much in its infant stages, it is still a piece of the puzzle that shows a promising future of what kind of development this might be.
