Fanjita, Noobz to undo recent PSP bricks soon |

Renowned homebrew developer Fanjita wrote an article over at the Noobz team website regarding the recent PSP brickings involving a "broken version of the latest M33 custom firmware, deliberately distributed by a certain disreputable piracy site."This is not just some random post, mind you, as Fanjita noted that they are working on a way to fix the broken PSPs. According to Fanjita, the bricks occurred due to a "a delicate decryption algorithm" in the program.
The developer further explained, "that algorithm was tied to the contents of the installer program, which had the side effect that if the installer was modified in any way, then the data being flashed to the PSP would be corrupt, and so a brick would result".
But the good thing is that Fanjita and the rest of Noobz team believe that there's a way to undo the damage the algorithm caused. The developer mentioned that they've been studying Team M33's code and are currently working on a project regarding this. Fanjita wrote:
We hope to be able to develop a way to fix those bricks in the near future. At this time, this is just for the M33 bricks. I can't predict exactly when this might be ready (it should be very soon), but maybe it will save some of you the hassle and expense of sending your PSP off to be repaired.
We have to say that QJ.NET really commends this move from Fanjita and Noobz team because a lot of innocent PSP owners were really affected by what happened. It's really heart-warming to see some of the PSP community's developers spending time to rescue not only those who are locked out of homebrew, but those who were victims of PSP bricks as well.

it was not m33's fault that so many people bricked their psps. the official installer from their site did't brick a single psp.
but some idiots edited the installer and put it online without further testing. and that hex edited installer was a bricker. not the official one from m33.
they deserve a great deal of respect for putting time towards this.
it'll be awesome to be able to fix bricked coz u can buy bricked ones on ebay, fix them and make money, lol, btw M33 are actually coders who work for Sony to try get rid of the homebrew scene with bricks and Dark_AleX didn't "quit" Sony had something to do with it, long live Dark_AleX CFW, screw M33
I still am in love with M33, but this two nice kids are getting points day after days. I just do not know how they can do such a magical thing, but I just want to see where psp-scene skills can arrive. I am more and more proud to participate to this scene, the best ever afaik, although only as a watcher. Thank you people!
Its people like you who don't understand anything! It wasn't M33 that caused the brick. Their version was legit. Its users who go to this certain "lame" site and download their revised version which caused the bricks. Get your facts straight before you say anything.

i idnt brick my psp updating to 3.52 m33-3 or m33-4 but this will make me feel alot less scared when falshing but this is outstanding too good to be true noobz u have proved to be the best of the best i have no idea how but this is too good. u will be legendary even higher than DA probably i still cant beleive this.

I always thought that the oe firmwares were the most stable/brick-safe.
Have you even read the news?! M33 put a protection on the FW. If someone edited the code, the FW itself would in a way "self-brick". therefor, stop whining, and do some research.

M33 is the best cfw out right now....point blank!!! All you people hatin don't read the facts. If they made the sh#t then they have the right to block anyone they don't want using it. Everyone who has 3.52 M33 knows it is great firmware, not sayin DA's firmwares were bad,but M33 has fixed alot of things that were not working on OE. Just wait, all of you people talkin down will soon have to upgrade to M33 if you want to play newer games that will need the higher firmware versions to run. M33 is not only stable but probably some of the best CFW I have seen and I have been hackin since the beginning. I'm on 3.52 M33-4 and have not had one problem since the first 3.51 M33. Keep up the good work Fanjita and Noobz team this will be a great accomplishment. M33 keep up the great CFW. All of you DA riders need to come up for air. believe it or not, there were some reports that the m33 installer bricked some PSPs. But that is most likely the psp owner's fault (didn't read the readme.txt)

Yeah right. I personally think that the M33 team should spend more time testing the CF but it is still not M33's fault for the bricks. The real reason is that the stupid noob doesn't read the readme. And if M33 worked for sony you wouldn't be able to play isos or csos. Also, sony would never dare to brick their own system.
And about DA being related to sony, Sony had nothing to do with DA leaving. Sony is only talking to DA about future things and ideas. DA only chose to leave on his own.
DA and the NOOBZ team work together (used to actually.) They both have the same rep.
its nothing like devhook. CF is a hybrid of the two (1.5 and whatever the new firmware is) so that means you don't need additional software. Think of it like homebrew on a new firmware such as 3.52. Just try it! (Just be sure to read the readme.)
when you think about it, M33 really didn't make the CF. Just merely adding codes to it. M33's CF is based on DA's.

My opinion? The M33 installer needs the 3.52 update, of course, right? I think that if the M33 update maker detects tampering or relations to the Criminal site, it should instead of creating the installer, create something that looks identical and acts the same - but really, it's an updateflasher for 3.52. So, the ps3lamerz get bumped to 3.52 official. Of course, this one was just a patch, but they should start doing that for all full releases, IMO.
That way, innocent people will be less harmed, and the Criminal site all its affiliates still get what they deserve.

Oh, and about M33 being at fault or not. 95% of the bricks were either from ps3lamerz's modified version of it. There were some people that got bricked anyways, though. As Noobz said, the check to see wether it had been modified or not was very delicate.
a while back didnt qj post something on a special battery and some memry stick files??? but I dont think noobz will send out those bateries
I swear these are the types of devs i have the utmost respect for, devs like fanjita, noobz, dark alex, math, and others. I respect that m33 implemented something to protect their work but I dont think they should have went to the extreme of a brick and ever since their first CFW appearance with them flaming others devs they have always sorta rubbed me the wrong way and thus I try and stay away from their developments and pray team wildcard FTW as they handle their issues in a more professional manor. Anyways I respect all devs contributions including team m33 but not some of their actions...

Actually, it was m33's fault. They put the encryption in there in the first place. The issue didn't exist until they put the code in. They knew someone was changing things and purposefully added code that would cause the issue. They knew what it would do. They are unprofessional tools. Devs that act as Fanjita and team n00bz are shows real professionalism .
If this was a Sony firmware that caused bricks if it was downloaded from alt sites, Sony would have had it's butt sued multiple times over. Heck, the first batch of XBox owners got quite a few free games , free repairs, and free warrenties due to poor video cards and bad dvd drives (I was one of them).

People who post Bull ***** messages about how much they suck should uninstall life and return the disks. Jin is one of the only people here that have clue.
There are a couple others as well, but not many.
M33 knew that the installer would be altered, and they knew that an altered installer would brick PSPs, and they released it anyways, knowing that innocent people would end up bricking their PSPs.
They're no better than the people they where trying to get revenge on. And they're just as much at fault.
