If Dark Alex has decided to leave, that is his choice. Although the fake websites and Ps2nfo fake accounts obviously don't help matters, if he had already decided to leave the scene anyway then really those things make little difference. I don't know why people feel the need to completely leave the scene since when I grow tired of things I find a short break is usually enough. As far as I am concerned he is leaving at the most interesting time in the Psp's homebrew cycle but whatever he decided to do, im sure his decision will be respected. Family comes first.

I just waited a 1/4 of this year for a psp downgrader for 2.8. Then comes an eloader (0.995). I just think ''YES Dark_Alex will made a psp 2.8 downgrader'' and '' a psp downgrader for 2.8 coming soon'' but now , I hope so much that Dark_Alex did not stop working on the PSP.

I'm afraid that you are wrong, to be blunt. The Sony PSP is a great achievment, however, the games that are released for it are mainly just re-makes of old games or un-original ones that we've all seen before (bar a few). I personally only brought my PSP for the homebrew capabilities and am over the moon about all the things the PSP is able to do with the custom firmware etc. And as for those who bricked their PSP through the use of Dark Alexs' programs, that is their fault entirely as they have beeb proven to work by thousands of others, and on every single one it clearly states you are taking your own risk and that he is not responsible. So stfu fanboy.

Well man, I'm sorry for the 2 losses in your life. I had a friend who's mom had cancer and eventually passed on because of it. She was bed ridden for nearly a year. As for the legal problems, good call. Not that I don't appreciate what you've done for the community and all, but to put your family first like that....deserves great merit :-) Just sucks this world focuses mostly on how much they can gain, rather than how much they can achieve. And I don't know about everybody else here, but the I can respect the fact you'd want to quit to avoid anybody accidentally downloading something that may brick their PSP. But we take on that responsibility, not you. It our decision at least to test your work, and many have with great thanks. This isn't a message to Dark_AleX in anyway. I am not saying that he has to stay or any other bull*****. It is just the end of my homebrew run if this is to happen. This is not meant to be any pressure to the man of custom firmware. Also, to all those people out there saying "they know how he feels" and *****. Give it a rest. You don't know *****. Your life and another persons life are two different quests on this miserable planet. To those of you who want homebrew to die. Just a simple message. Sony's handheld is a complete lack of effort. It would be FRIGGIN HILARIOUS if D_A came back into the scene after a week but under a different name. I've always thought Dark_AleX seemed just like "L" from the Anime/Manga called Death Note. If D_A had a Death Note, Espinoza Alesio would be the first name in it! XD When people I am close to pass away, I think of it as them starting their new beginning. Hey man, just wanted to say thx so much for everything you've done for the PSP Homebrew scene. I'm relatively new, but was able to jump right in with no trouble thx in a large part to your programs. You've definitely done this community a great favor and for your contributions, I thank you. As far as your personal problems go, I'm really sorry to hear that. It's never easy to lose someone, especially two people in the same year. I know I don't know you personally at all or anything, but for what its worth I want you to know that I sympathize with you and I'll keep you in my prayers. As far as the fake D-A.com goes, that's just bull*****. I can't believe some ***** would go to the trouble of creating a website and writing programs with the sole purpose of destroying PSP's, as well as your reputation. I don't know if he was being paid by Sony, or what, but you've also provided his email, so I'm trying to think of as many illegal and spam lists I can get his email on. Regardless, don't let it get you down. That's only one dude, the rest of the homebrew community is behind you and supports you all the way. As much publicity as this has got, I don't see how it can really come back on you, but I definitely understand your caution. If you were already considering giving this stuff a break, I can definitely understand, but don't give it all up just b/c of one douche bag. Regardless, I understand your need for a break, or even calling it quits for good. It really sucks that you're thinking about leaving. Please contribute more, even though you have done so much. Just put some 3.0 in the custom firmware. Everyone would have 10 times the love for you that they already do. I don't really think anyone else has the same capacity as you to come up with all these hacks as quickly as you did. I hope to see you continuing taking part in the homebrew scene. Thanks for all your hard work. I've lost both of my grandfathers to cancer already, and expecting two more family members to die from it soon too. I understand how something like that can get you down. But if you don't continue your hobbies, you will only go into a deeper depression and when you're in your older years, you won't have much to hang on to. And perhaps you will die sooner than you should. Remember that saying from the movie "Joe Dirt". When Joe Dirt told his Indian friend to "Keep on keepin' on". I upgraded to firmware 2.8 the day it came out, expecting it to be better that it's predecessors but i was badly mistaken. I have never upgraded my PSP since and have been waiting for some brilliant dev to come up with a hack for it. When you came up with 2.71 SE, i was impressed beyond belief. I still have hope in the fact that some day soon, after your break, you will come and create a custom version of the 2.8 Firmware for the PSP. I am sorry to see you leave the homebrew scene but i respect your decision and understand your reasons. Thank you for being a great developer and wish you the best of luck in the future. Darl Alex, Sorry to hear about your family. I can relate to losing family members, my mother comitted suicide. I have found that modding video game systems takes my mind off of things that hurt deeply, nothing else has seemed to work that well and I tried alot of things to distract myself. I have a girlffriend with a son who is 9 and he has been through alot. His father was a drug addict and tried to kill his mother right in front of him. I mod video game systems for him and it makes us both happy. I purchased a psp for him and found I couldnt mod it. That is untill you came along and shared your hobby with us. Thank you for being one of the good people that helps others instead of hurting them. We both appreciate it. May God bring great joy into your life to help releive the hurt.
