Danzel, the author of AFKIM, has released the stand-alone source code of the new OSK (On-Screen Keyboard) in his 2.0 version of AFKIM. Other developers in the scene can now reuse the source code to embed this OSK into their own homebrews to offer a better way of character input.

The name of the OSK, "Danzeff", is a combination of "Danzel" and "Jeff Chen", the names of whom designed this input method.  We have posted a detailed report on this OSK before.

Thanks for the heads-up, cooldocy795!

This idea has been used several times before, he did not invent this, he only made it usable on the PSP. An example of where else this is used is on an Xbox webbrowser homebrew called Linksbox

Hell, I don't care if its been invented before or if they copied the idea from that xbox homebrew app. I'm just happy that someone finally made a OSK that even I find easy to use.

So thnx Danzel and Jeff Chen :D

#4 - I didn't know that this keyboard type had been implemented before, but it is not really a suprise.

If you'd been following the thread where we discussed the creation of this idea you would of seen that it came from the Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) keyboard, but with many changes.

It is possible for different people to invent the same thing you know :P

Actually, no. If you want to know the real origins of this keyboard, simply look at a cellphone :)

Im not sucking Xbox's balls, I am not a fanboy, I have a PSP, a PS2, and an Xbox, but Xbox is the best one to run homebrew on, hands down.

Im not a fanboy like some people here

to be honest, i'd rather use the psp's original keypad. i'm so used to it that it's hard to go back and forth between the two. i can use the original psp style way faster anyway. hell, why not make it a lot easier and release the dang psp keyboard already! we're gonna end up coming out with a camera and gps system before a keyboard for crying out loud. it's a keyboard for god sake! how hard is that?

# Can this be implemented with NetHack?Guest 2006-04-17 06:11
I think NetHack was the first port I tried for my PSP. It works, but the game is unbeatable because it hasn't a built in keyboard, yet.

you guys know the real meaning of "homebrew" and "community." AFMIM also deserves the aware for "most improved" homebrew because of this keyboard. thanks for what you've done and keep it up!

Actually, I dont. I have a 1.0 PSP, thank you very much. But the PSP is OK for homebrew since it is portable, but you can't CAN'T deny that the Xbox is better, it is just the facts, look at both specs.

Trust me, the Xbox is a lot harder to program for, but it has the best homebrew hands down, everything homebrewed for the PSP is on the Xbox, except it runs alot faster, smoother and better quality. But, the Xbox is not portable, so they both have their pros and cons

Go back to your onesided mind, fanboy.
