Super Smah Brothers running on Daedalus R11 - Image 1

Something to look forward to as we ready up for another Monday. StrmnNrmn reports that if things go well, the PSP community can expect to see the PSP Daedalus R11 N64 emulator up and running by this Sunday morning (UK time). Along with that breaking news, here's a rough on what the developer's been working on for this week:
  • I was using to keep track of cached textures and dynarec fragments with sorted vectors, which should help reduce fragmentation and improve cache usage.
  • I've also been through and updated the rom.ini file I talked about a couple of weeks ago to make sure that it contains accurate information for the save type. I noticed that many of the entries for European roms were undefined, which can cause various compatibility problems.
  • Finally I realised that there was a dynarec issue which was preventing Super Smash Bros from going in-game. Although that's not fixed (that's something for R12) I have disabled dynarec for SSB by default. With my various texture cache fixes SSB is now running in-game, albeit with messed up graphics and at just 15 fps.
That's all to report here, folks. StrmnNrmn ended this update saying he was going to bed - we advise the readers to rest up as well, and just check back on the appointed day.

wow, thers only 1 post in this pile of spam that actually talks about daedalus. i wish he would stop releasing tens of versions, spend another few months and release a fully working one, the emulator is practically useless at the moment, yet it's the 10th, almost 11th release, i dread to think what the first was like. The only games that actually work with it are mario and soon to be super smash bros.

I agree that QJ shouldn't update with news about progress, only releases. But I do think StrmnNrmn shouldcontinue updating onhis blog as he has been doing. I cant wait for Smash bros, even if it is only around 15fps. I wish he wouldsay something about how the new texture improvements will help framerate.

cheers StrmnNrmn, keep up the good work!

What's the point with changing CPU speed? It's already running at 333 Mhz and setting it lower would just slow it down.

Fantastic work as usual, StrmnNrmn. Can't wait to try it.

I think pwned is about the stupidest thing I have ever seen. Someone makes a typo and all the sudden every one takes to it like lemmings off a cliff.

Anyway back to Daedalus I hope in r12 will have smash brothers running faster. He says it will be at 25-30fps although they don't tell you that in the post he does say it on his blog. SSM and the two Zelda games are the only games I really played on the N64 .

what? you must be retarded. http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t+58500 go here for R`0 games, add SSB, go to the bottom and add all that say it needs a expansion pack, and you have your games for R11. wow, there's only mario and SSB working...STFU. if you want a game released, or you want him to stop releasing updates and work for months at a time....DONT READ OR DOWNLOAD UPDATES FOR A FEW MONTHS!!!! stop complaining hes doing the best he can. have you noticed the menu looks discusting? that's because he can only work on improvements for you

If you are running official Sony 3.03 firmware then you should be able to downgrade it to 1.5 then from there upgrade to 3.40 OE A Custom firmware. Before you do anything do some research.

# Yeah... butGuest 2007-05-06 11:46
People complain if they wait too long for releases. They'd rather have slightly better emulators then ones that are so much better that there are bugs unknown to the developer
