Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-A incoming |

The PSP community will have another treat before the weekend as the French website PSPGen announced that Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-A is coming soon. How soon, you ask? They say it'll be released before midnight this Friday, June 12 (French time) so better get ready.
The new custom firmware created by the team known as GENyUS will now be aimed for the PSP fat and slim users (with TA-088 v1 and v2). It will be accompanied with an updated 1.50 Kernel add-on for PSP-1000 users and a CXMB version that will be compatible with 5.50GEN-A.

i hate it when dax doesnt do major updates
Yeah i was expecting M33 to come up with something before the GENyUS team. I mean these guys aren't very likable because of the previous problems they had with M33 and all. I guess this can change a few things if and only if the pull it off and actually release a full custom firmware with their OWN modules.
if DAX doesent make an m33 before dissidia comes out ill have to suck it up and deal with the gen cfw

DAX is having exams which finish on the 30th.

you can play music in a foldr right, but this feature ass the suppoert for mutlipl folder, like say "artest/albem/song.mp3"

So does this mean that you can install it on a PSP 3000 with firmware 5.50?
The print on the Jump says it'll be available for PSP-1000 and Slim models with v1 and v2, there is no announcement of a Brite or 3000 up there, so as it sits it seems you'll have to wait for a 3000 release, possible decoding may be needed to work with a new CFW Enabler. Either way, you can most likely expect a 3000 release now that it's hackable, I mean, if it's out for v2, they why not?
I've always been a user of M33, but a GEN-A release before an M33 release? Why the hell did DAX say that the features in 5.50 were worthless? Hello, it wouldn't jump from 5.00 to 5.50 without a good reason! Yet they'd totally decrypt and make a new CFW if it had some new stupid visualizer right? I don't get M33 anymore, this is depressing. I'm sure when I convert to a GEN user, most of my emus and apps will fail to work properly -_- ahwell, if I don't like it I'll simply Pandora my way out of GEN and wait for DAX (take this as a hint DAX, you may find the new features worthless to decrypt over, but maybe the rest of us find them good to have! Personally, I'm thankful for your work thusfar with M33 CFWs, but I must say, you've a bit harsh if you think the new features in 5.50 aren't worth developing 5.50M33 for, but once more, you'd make a new one if it just came with a new visualizer wouldn't ya?)
dax is mad because he shared some files with someone concerning a certain exploit, that person threw it on the internet and called it thiers, theres a quote one his website from him that says 'now i know never to trust anyone again' my guess is that he was holding out on the exploit until the go came out so that sony wouldn't have a chance to fix it, but someone forced him out, understandably dax feels burned by the comunity, so i wouldn't expect anything big any time soon, maybe after go launches

Hmm...got it easy to install. Hehe, just kinda sucks that less then half of my apps don't work and lots of the plugins don't either. But meh, happy with it for now. As long as CWCheat and ISO\CSO work I'm cool with it. But kinda wish FILER would work!

This is only for the PSP's that can go into service mode, (Pandora Battery) not the ChickHEN Exploit. I doubt it could be done because of how you need the Flash0 to install the custom firmware, and the 3000 PSP you can't do it. I think its great how Gen came out with the firmware and are fixing bugs quick. Already on there site the have a quick fix for the PS Store Problems, ect. Hope that helps ya.

I have gave up on GEN firmwares this is the second time i tried to update to GEN firmwares on 2 different types of PSP's on 1000 and 2000 and both times i get a instant brick. after the SCE intro it freezes and shuts down and have to use pandora to fix it. It seems as if these GEN firmwares are broken

I went there looking for a new CFW, though now I see there isn't lol....I didn't see anything about downloads and my spanish is kinda off. so I can't find any news on DLing a new CFW or if its even being worked on, anyone test this new one and see if its good or not?
it bricked my friend's 2000, he had to pandora back while seeing nothing on the screen.
How did it brick? They did say DO NOT FLASH IT ON A PSP-3000 OR A PSP-2000 WITH TA-088 V3 MOTHERBOARD, if you carefully read everything, or translated it with Google. Plus, did you disable all your plugins?
yeah its not the firmware thats bricking the peoples psp. its just the user not flashing right. also probally cause they are dark alex fanboys. but i wont be updating it. last time i tried going from a m33 firmware to another hackers firmware i got a random brick lol. plus not many games look good that makes me wanna update

When i try and update with this my psp says the data is corrupt.
I Did "Brick" my PSP 3 times until I turned off all my plug-ins,but now my game categories plug-in doesn't work nor IRSHELL and the dayviewer plug-in doesn't work either :( I Just wanted 2 Organize my music and videos because the game categories worked wonders 4 all my homebrew but now that I've seen it I could've sworn it did that already on 5.00m33-6 maybe not videos but photo+music I'll just pandora back 2 5.00m33-6 and wait 4 team33 (GOOD THING I HAD A PANDORA+MMS) ps.Don't EVER delete ur MMS even though the readme says so U just might need it again I learned the hard way (I DONT HAVE A P.C. my friend let me use theirs,and when it bricked I needed the MMS AGAIN but no card reader and my PSP was inaccessible thru USB)
