pspAnd so the 2.71 SE-C mania continues. After Dark Alex released his wonderful work, there's been a surge of more releases that continue to work on making the most of the custom firmware. An example of this is suloku's 2.71 Kernel AUTOBOOT Plugin for 2.71 SE-C which we brought you guys just a few days ago.

Some of the comments we got when we posted v0.1 of the Kernel AUTOBOOT Plugin were asking what this app is for, what it does, and various how-to's.

So for clarification purposes for those who are still a bit baffled, here's what suloku has to say about his release: "It allows to autoboot into an aplication under 2.71 kernel when powering on the psp or exiting a hombrew. For example, you can use a devhook launcher with autoboot and you can start your psp with your devhook and 271F setting activated."

The features, installation instructions, and more info about the autoboot plugin are included in the readme so make sure you check it out alright?

Changelog:
  • Added ability to go to the XMB with holding L at boot.
  • Added ability to go boot inserted UMD with holding / (triangle) at boot.
  • Added checking for inserted umd when holding / (triangle) at boot.If not present, it will go to the XMB
  • Added checking for file existence. If the file to be launched doesn't exist, it will go to the XMB.
  • Added 1.5 kernel booting when WLAN switch is OFF to launch an aplication under 1.5 kernel.
  • 2.71 kernel aplication will be launched when WLAN switch is ON.
To do:
  • Add a ini file for custom file paths.

1.50 owners still live???

seriously there is NO REASON to stay on 1.50 anymore unless your such a noob that your scared to take a super tiny risk.i dont mean any offence to 1.50 owners but seriously you guys are really missen out

1.5

well reli what is better on 2.71? everything works on 1.5 but not everything works on 2.71 yet??
by - 2006-11-29 11:44:50
well...

basicly you can do everything you can on a 1.5 but no restrictions.and best of all no devhook loading.it has to many great great features to to blab about but trust me its the best move for a serious psp owner

No reason.

actually im pretty sure everything but devhook works on 2.71 as of now and maybe ir shell but with the firmware features devhook is useless and with this app Ir shell will now work so there is no need to stay on 1.5 also for the guy thinking about updating no one cares. if you would like to update be my guest.

Yeah...

DA said that you should use the "deneric Downgrader" he (i think) made, and then update to 2. 71 SE the usual way

by - 2006-11-29 13:58:53
why

my custom firmware already had this wtf
by - 2006-11-29 14:11:30
nah

nah man, in order to upgrade to 2.71 SE, you have to be able to downgrade to 1.5, which is impossible for us ta-082ers. what i'd like to know, is when will they make a 1.5 kernel autoboot plugin for us ta-082ers? i'd love to autoboot to devhook 1.5. :D

I can't get this to work. I put the seplugins folder in my root and it won't show up under plugins in recovery mode.

can't work

I followed everything in the readme file but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone has it working with DH 0.50? Just put the eboot of dh 0.50 into the autoboot150 folder rite?
by - 2006-12-02 11:54:08
autoboot

place your eboot.pbp in mso://psp/system/autoboot150 or 271 and it works fine!!

Simple

You can play free games on version 1.50, you cannot do that on any higher version of PSP firmware. Free + no charge. DevHook and/or DaxzISO combined make a lot of games playable as ISO's (UMD-rips). THAT is why the old firmware is so very popular. If you're a person who only plays real games, bought in stores, you have every reason to upgrade. I don't buy games, I download them.
