Here's an application that's bound to make graphics fans smile. Yongobongo recently released the latest version of his PSP image editing application known as yPaint. Now known as yPaint Anniversary Edition, the application seems to have had a lot of big changes, most notable of which is the ability to edit your configuration settings to tweak almost any variable in yPaint.
The full list of current features can be found below:
- Save
- Open
- USB Mode, for transferring created images
- Pencil
- Zoom (up to 4x zoom, with no quality loss!)
- Brush
- Custom Brushes (by Haxxblaster, these are from version 5)
- Text Input Tool
- New Enhanced Keyboard (based on Danzeff, originally by Fuzzie 360)
- Rectangle Tool
- Circle (Ellipse) Tool
- Random Spray Tool (Like the spray in MS Paint!)
- New redesigned interface
- Size selection
- RGB Colour Editor
- Quick Colour Selector
- Full Colour Selector
- Eraser (Now transparent, not white!)
- Transparency in canvas (NOTE: Save as PNG if you want to keep the transparency!)
- Line Tool
- Scroll Tool (To move around canvas)
- Fill Bucket (Fill areas of the same colour, NOTE: This is a little buggy.)
- Completely recoded from the ground up
- PDF User Manual
- 'settings.cfg' for editing settings

Looks really good! Looks like the best paint app so far.
ok every time i download this app it NEVER works i get all excited that this new cool looking app will work i even read the "read-me" i run the app and wat do u no cant click anything then my psp freezes then i go back and it says corrupted data this happens on every version of ypaint i download. this is the most ureliable psp app i have ever used i prefer to use one of the 1st psp paint apps to EVER come out over this if this app worked i would like it but it doesnt(have had my psp since it came out so n00bs shut it)
There has always been problems with getting this to work on some firmwares this is because yongo uses hen and not a 1.5 or custom firmware. if you have troubles running it you can always go download lua player and use it that way. i believe it runs of lua player mod 4.
i'm on firmware 3.52m33 and this app doesnt work.
In the game menu in the xmb it says corrupt data so i can't even start it!!!
doesnt work on 3.52 M33-2 says corrupt data on GAME on GAME150 and GAME352
Nice layout, best paint tool I've seen yet, keep up the progress.
I thought for sure I'd be able to tell these noobs how to run it but I'm on 3.52 M33 and I can't find a way to do it..I even tried a lua player.. XD
Needless to say, somebody will figure it out and tell us. Thanks!!!

I am on 3.4 OE A, and just like you guys, it wouldn't work. I tried game 150, game 340, game, nothing would work.
So I booted up irshell 3.1, went into my memory stick directory, and selected the eboot and ran it. It gave me an error, then started right up.
It's a lot better than that other paint app, but the controls are a little confusing. Time to read the readme! :)
I hope they post a patch or something, because I hardly ever use irshell, and now I have to boot it up just draw a picture...
Dark_Alex quoted that the 3.40 LE is a cheap creation or his own. So I believe you ppl should just upgrade to M33 CFW.

the old version 5.0 works...i dont use it becouse of one thing.
If i click load a image: i cant select a folder or file in the file browser...
maby its fixed in this newer version but i cant start this one...

i cant get it to work, im on 3.40oe-a.. it doesnt work .. i put it in all folders.. game150, game340, game.. it doesnt work it shows up as currupted file... and i dunno whats up with my ir shell , it just doesnt laucch any hombrew.. it says error ... with all hombrews :S
