Winnydows has just informed us that he has released an update to his renowned homebrew app, Xvid4PSP, that makes video conversion for your PSP a lot easier. And if you thought the changes in the 4.049 version were massive, you should take a look at this version's changelog.Donning loads of fixes and minor tweaks in the UI, it looks like this app really has nowhere to go but up the list of hottest media apps for the PSP. For first-timers, you should know that XviD4PSP has the following minimal system requirements: Windows Vista or Windows XP SP2 + Microsoft Framework 3.0, DirectX 9.0c december (only for 3D GPU).
Changelog:
- Fixed aspect calculation.
- Ffdshow now installed with selected language.
- Ffdshow icons removed from tray by default.
- Add new SBC prest - Ghost Buster. Help remove red ghosting on PSP.
- Removed format MP4 PSP (MP4 PSP 2.80 and MP4 PSP 480 full replace it).
- Removed Fix gray flicks option.
- For AVI format audio now encode in video path - doesn`t need muxing.
- For AVI format now possible create files with PCM sound.
- Added two new formats - AVI DV PAL and AVI DV NTSC. DV files created progressive (no interlacement = HQ)!
- Removed encoding VirtualDub - mencoder full replace it.
- For AVI format added two new LossLess (без потерь) codecs - FFV1 and FFVHuff.
- From framerate list removed non-standart framerates (15.000). All non-standart inut files will be converted to near framerate. This fix sync on some RM and MOV files.
- Removed Engine DropDown.
- Removed PMP 2.01 - PMP AVC much better in all cases.
- Removed Base64 encoder-decoder tool.
- Removed VirtualDubMod.
- Default aspect correction now - Black.
- Mencoder updated to r22178.
- Finished CLI for x264.
- Reorganzed tabs and fixed small bugs
- Now always used mencoder MT.

4th OMG WUT DID I WIN???
Wake me up when this program can handle FLV files as easily as Super(c) can.

I am trying to convert a movie in rmvb format to mp4. I use the MP4 PSP 480 default settings. BUt i am unable to view the converted mp4 file on my psp.. wat are the settings that are required to be configured?
Yay, an update to the program that will take your video, increase the size of it by 3 times, and make it unrecongizable on your psp! I really want this program to work because it is deffinately the best looking and has a crapload of options but it fails in practically every way. After realizing how bad this program is, the only use I've had for it is using it to convert .mov videos to .mp4, which arent even usable, then using psp video 9 to covert that into a usable video. So I guess all I can say is, keep up the good work. Maybe it will be usable next update.

Winnydows; nice work. Obviously the above posters haven't spent five minutes getting to learn your nice app. Rest asured that there are lots of us you appreciate your daily efforts to make this nice tool even better. Keep up the good work.

You notice the talent of the others above when it comes to their negative points, how bout helping them out and answering something(s) for them and hopefully then more people might figure out how to use this brew on its full potential. But I do agree more with the others. I've downloaded this brew SEVERAL releases now and still havent made a SINGLE succesfull convertion on PSP 480 format. Like what THOUSANDS of people are saying. This damn brew doesnt work. All show but no go. Now hows bout being a good lad 4 a change and at least direct some of us to some usefull info sites on how to sucessfully convert using this brew. also the program named "super", but it doesn't say to me when he will finish and no two pass mode. too bad i prefer winnydows work, winny, you ROCK!
Hey I converted some quicktime trailers and the picture looks really good, the only problem is that the sound is out of sync(I think thats how you say it) Any help?? please
