PSP homebrew developer luizlizard has come a long way with the successive releases of the XMB Theme Cycler application, which has just updated today to version 0.5. This application, in case you're wondering, allows you to change your PSP's XMB themes every time you reboot. This latest release also includes a theme manager function, which now allows you to manually flash your themes. As for the complete features list:
  • Theme Manager (NEW!!!)
  • Automatic theme flashing at startup
  • Unlimited slots for saving themes
  • Configuration menu
  • Dummy font flashing -- Frees 2.5 mb in Flash0
  • Monthly theme cycling
  • Original theme backup
  • Scripting improvement over last release
As luizlizard (and we here at QJ) strongly advise: view the file readme before anything else, as mishandling this application may lead to bricks. We also highly recommends users to check out the QJ.Net Forums for additional info. Enjoy the download!

Dark Alex's firmware sucks. If he would only port Linux, then it would be better than his stupid OE-CRAP.

Don't even think about replying to this because you will just loose the battle that when Sony created windows, it never stood a chance to Shigeru Miyamotos Linux box

I pwnt all u's

by Shutup you idiot he can't port linux - 2007-05-27 20:18
» Porting linux is impossible for PSP idiot

Also man, you've been pitching that idea SEVERAL times now, and it has to be you pitching it because no one else could possibly be that damn stupid. Just let it go, you want something done, do it yourself.

» not true

both mac os 7 and even a form of linux have been ported but neither have had keyboard support and so were not widely used

linux and windows 95 were both ported using a port of the bochs emulater and mac os 7 was ported using a (as far as i can tell) custom made emulater called basalisk

so it can be done but no one has emplimented keyboard support as of yet so almost no one uses them

I'm sure there is software that lets you control a keyboard with your mouse.

But I haven't tested the x86 emulator yet so I don't even know if you can install software or what it can do.

anyway, why would you want something like windows running in a portable gaming console, simply, a windowing system in it is useless, the x86 emulator was made mostly to show that it can be done.

I'm sure you can't even code a helloworld.

Linux can't be ported to PSP, Dark Alex's firmware owns, and Sony didn't make Windows.

» ***** windows

i hate windows

and sony dident make it,

but to say linux CANT be ported

it deffently a lie.

SOmeone could make a small kernel

and minimal apps, possably even a small gui

the psp is deffently capable of running it.

i have seen some very lightweight linux distros

so it is very possable
