Ta-dah! Here comes XMB Screensaver v1 from Art. This plugin allows you to launch a screensaver eboot after around 3.5 minutes of inactivity on the XMB. Heck, Art even says the screensaver eboot "could potentially be replaced with some other homebrew that you'd like to run after 3.5 minutes of inactivity for some reason."

Other notes from Art:

The screensaver timer is reset any time you:

  • Press a button,
  • are watching a movie with the XMB video player
  • are playing music with the XMB music player
  • Have an open USB mass storage connection
  • are using the integrated web browser
  • are using the PSP GoCam!
There are more instructions from Art in the readme/saveme txt file in the download archive if you want to turn your eboot into a screensaver. Currently, the screensavers included in the download are the Multimesh and Plasma seen above. Pretty ain't it? Art says some of you should be able to recognize Plasma from Time Baby.

Cool, admittedly. Though for the sake of the system's battery I'd rather my unit to into sleep mode.

Have a look around, I'd imagine someone's made an eboot to put the PSP into sleep mode while they've been learning.

Not always a good thing to have the PSP turn off though, someones you want to leave it to do something, which is what I imagine this is for.
