If you aren't quite satisfied using AhMan's iR Shell to manage your PlayStation Portable's files, or you just feel like having a change of pace, then perhaps you might be interested in taking a look at The Ghost team's XAVShell application.

XAVShell v1.0.2 works like any other shell program, but carries some added security functions. The opening screen of the app requires you to enter a 6-button login password that you can configure by accessing the loginpassword.tgt file included inside the folder. Failing to enter the correct password boots you back out to the XMB.

So far, the only features available on the shell's desktop are the UMD and USB enabled functions. It also has an percentage indicator of how much battery power your PSP has remaining.

For a more detailed list of features, check out this changelog for the application:
  • Now there are two icons enabled { USB and UMD icon }
  • SDK for programmers / hackers available.
  • Led power will be power on/off when the percentage of the battery < 26.
  • Percentage of the battery will be showed on the task bar.
Don't forget to take a look at the Readme.txt for more instructions before installing this application on your PSP.
