X-Flash v15

Art has once again updated his firmware modification tool for the PSP today, bringing it to version 15f. X-Flash is a homebrew application that writes to your 1.5 PSP's on-board flash memory, allowing you to perform all kind of tweaks to your PSP firmware including the ability to apply a custom XMB menu, apply alternate sound effects, and even write a MP3 file to your flash memory!

You do have to be careful with this program as you do run the risk of bricking your PSP if you don't follow the guidelines, but if you follow Art's advice and the X-Flash readme your PSP should be fine. So what does the latest release of X-Flash have in store for us - lets find out!

Here's what Art said about the update the v15f update:

Added a prompt to auto install Dark_AleX custom firmware files if there is no custom firmware installed on the subject PSP unit for the first use of X-Flash.

This is a new release because Art is working on other projects at the moment, putting X-Flash temporarily on hold. This is a temporary final version whilst Art works on bigger and better things so you can still expect more homebrew releases from this coder in the future. Once Art has completed some of his other projects he will probably continue working on X-Flash. For a list of features added in X-Flash v15 please visit our previous coverage.

Art will continue to provide support for X-Flash and is still interested in your thoughts about the program, any suggestions or problems you may have; just report them in the forum release thread.

First off I'd like to say thank you very much Art, you made my psp stand out from the crowd, with it's custom gameboot, 13.37 firmware and network update being disabled.

Also good work on making sure that some custom firmware is on the psp, that should prevent atleast 75% of the newbs from bricking.

In other words thank you very much and good job :D! Good luck on your other projects!

# can it work on harleyg's custom firmwareGuest 2006-09-15 16:55
I want to use it, but I flashed my psp with harleyg's custom firmware. Can it work on harleyg's custom firmware, or it only work with the original official firmware 1.5?

to (5 & 7) this is your answer...http://www.psp-hacks.com/2006/09/15/new-devhook-coming-soon/

Booster is still alive. The guy who release this press is 1 of their website's admin. It's pretty believable.

to (11) it will work on harleyg's custom fw, I have HCFW too & everything seems going smoothly when I use this X-flash v15f. It's nothing much...just for ppl who currently dun hv any custom fw & can used this auto dark_alex titbits...If u still doubtful den u better dun try.

# big different !axelixc 2006-09-16 05:52
>>14 u'r welcome

if master booster release dis DH to 2.80 emu, den it'll be a big hit coz in emu 2.80, it'll breach the ms limit & support up to 8gb or more. so ppl who have their ms 4gb or more can be supported in this 2.80 emu.

sony already announce tat they will release ps1 emu in the upcoming fw. who know if they will release ps2 emu for psp, den this 4gb limit is crucial if u wanna put ps2-iso into yr 4gg ms. lets hope.....
