Windows Vista on PSP - Image 1

Now here's an interesting idea from pspman16: since we already have the XMB Wave Screensaver for Windows, why not have it the other way around too? Oh yes, pspman16 has released a little homebrew treat that'll allow users to have a Vista wallpaper on your PSPs.

We already featured a similar Vista theme waaaay back in October last year, but because this one has tons more features in it, we just couldn't pass up the chance to share it with you guys. This is pspman16's first build of Windows Vista for the PSP and for this release, here are some of the features you can look forward to:
 • It features full memory stick browsing.
 • Ability to play Lua games.
 • You can also set a PNG image as a wallpaper and if you exit the game and re-enter it will remember the wallpaper settings.
 • USB mode activation while running the game.
 • Real time clock, actually displays PSP's time.
 • Delete a file on memory stick while in game.
Installation and usage instructions are all in the all-important readme file so why don't you go on and check that out before tinkering with your handhelds, eh?

by pspman16 - 2007-03-02 21:22:58
QJ got it wrong

Just to clarify on QJ's mistake. It's not a theme. It doesn't change any part of the PSP's XMB. It is a Lua game.
by - 2007-03-02 21:45:20
Ok

Just like pspWxp but in Lua format. Nice to see their is still interest in emulation of windows. Lets just hope that soon, we'll get a really nice version with lots of menu options and in EBOOT format.

reply

WOW!, Ok it is in EBOOT format. Ok I'd say it's in it's eirly stages. You can browse your MS but to do what. just look at the files? Nothing further to do... Like I said, a nice app with room to grow.
by - 2007-03-03 01:19:32
yeah

typical qj. talking out of their asses without knowing wtf they're blogging about.
by - 2007-03-03 03:06:26
LOL

Question, read the README.txt It tells you where to copy the files to. Yes, you start the app via MS/GAMES.

Reply to my question

I only have 2.71 at the moment i havn't downgraded it or installed hen on it so i was just wondering how the vista theme works
by pspman16 - 2007-03-03 06:49:12
Problems

--Wicked Insider You can delete the files while in game. --I only have 2.71 You will need to be at custom firmware since this is set up to use the GAME150 folder. Next release will be compatible with the non custom ppl.
by - 2007-03-03 07:59:34

Nice

i think this could be a promising shell. I just hope it doesnt end up like Artillery Shell or WinPSP wherein they were thought of as a very promising shells that could have word processor features. but they didnt.. i am more interested in seeing shells or windows homebrews that actualy can be useful like having word processors, excel spreadsheet and the likes. You know, like a PDA. what could be more cooler than having your handheld gaming gadget read your pc files while you are on the go or walking on the street?? right??

That is correct, I found out about that when messing around with the app checking to see which buttons did what? Deleted my Tekken DR.!.!.! I know, it so sucked. Needless to say, I'm not going to mess with it on a storage MS any more. I'll test it on a clean MS.

still having trouble

I finally found a copy of vista, but it is telling me to activate. i tried a bunch of different hacks, but they don't work (Windows still says it's not activated). I finally found this forum, and I hope someone can help me. This forum is kinda confusing me. It's talking about XMBs and stuff, and as far as I know, the XMB is that thing that sony uses on their PDAs. So, yeah, how do you get this crack to work? It's in pdb format, and my computer doesn't understand how to use it. Please help.
by - 2007-03-03 23:32:09

I'm actually helping pspman make it, along with idan6767. I'll post a pic of what it might look like.

ok this is what you need to do

Direct yourself at pspiso's website, they'll help you. search for pspiso on google, register, look for pc applications and you'll find some sort of vista cracks along the threads

by pspman16 - 2007-03-05 13:24:39
Answers

IT HAS TO BE IN THE GAME150 FOLDER! If you have 3.10 or 3.11 you cant play this! You need custom firmware for the GAME150 folder to work.
