Ó

PSPLinkTo kick things off, do not mistake this homebrew app for TyRaNid's PSPLink. These are two different apps, who happen to share the same name. This is the creation of danny_kay1710, and it is also called PSPLink. Just what is this thing?

danny_kay1710's PSPLink is a small application which is basically a USBHOSTFS or NETHOSTFS with an interface. This program adds the option to enable or disable the server modes easily as well as allowing them to run at startup and change the folder that USBHOSTFS or NETHOSTFS shares to your PSP. It no longer has to be in the same folder as the application. Small app, but quite nifty. With all that said, here is the changelog:

Version 1.2
* Actually fully fixed the autostart problems, sorry it took two versions, had to
re-arrange code and forgot to move one line!!
* Site references in installed README removed to hopefully stop PS2NFO providing
  non-working versions of my software.

Version 1.1
* Fixed WiFi directory changing bug.
* Fixed the autostart problems in which it would only share the default installation path
  upon application restart.

Version 1.0
* Driver is included in the installation path (default = "C:Program FilesPSPLinkDriver")
* Release Version
* GUI for USBhostfs and nethostfs (SystemTray based)
* Start with Windows
* Choose what server to run when program starts
* The folder to share doesnt have to be in the same location as the exe.
This can be changed through the settings page.
NOTE: You still cannot select the actual ISO or PSP folder you must select
a folder that conatins the ISO and PSP folders e.g
        ms0
        ---ISO
        ------Your isos here
        ---PSP
        ------GAME
        ----------Your Homebrew Here.

Also, don't forget to tell us what you think through your comments. Here at QJ, your comments are valued, so don't hesitate to think out loud in the comments section.

kinda funny how nobody realizes that you can already set it to another folder and make it not have to be open all the time, its just a few commands in a sortcut....

» how does it work?

Hey all i downloaded this program. It says you can stream your iso's using devhook and stream movies using Irshell but how? there is no readmeon how to do this :(.

@madonion you cant stream isos with this app, the nethostfs is for streaming mp3's or homebrew in irshell.

» hmm

It says when i installed the program in "about"... That this small application allows you to use your pc Harddrive as a virtual Memory stick for your psp. You can use this to stream ISO images to play with devhook over USB or stream movies over WIFI to IRshell.

Do u know how to do any of this? id really like to do it :(. movies would be cool iv been trying for ages with pimstreamer and never got it working. help me.

» for those with wifi connect issues

for anyone getting a lot of "cannot connect to host" over wfi,

errors, setting up a static IP will help things immensely and should speed up the connection time when browsing your remote folders

if there was a way to use it

» How to use

Quick tutorial

Run Program

Click the system tray icon and goto settings.

Change the folder to what ever you want folder you want to share

Set any other options

Click OK

Click the system tray icon again and click enable USB or enable WiFI depending on what you need to do.

If u enable either of these it changes to a disable button.

If you enable usb and have the devhook usb mod and have the folder structure right eg you share my documents and you have an iso folder in there with all your iso's in then when u run devhook with the usb mod installed they will appear on the UMD SELECT List.

If you enable WiFi or USB you can use this for IRSHELL ensure they are enabled and then try to open nethostfs or usbhostfs on irshell or remap them to ms0. Wifi host can also be used for pimpstreamer - note this app can be set to start with windows - useful if you use pimpstreamer a lot or have a small memory stick that can fit that many iso images on!!

Hope this helps

» IRSHELL

And for those who have difficulty setting irshell up with nethostfs completely try this.

Run configurator and find the option where u can enter an ip address.

Enter your computers ip. To find this out goto command prompt either through the start menu or by clicking run and typing ... cmd

then in the command prompt window type ipconfig ... your looking for you ip address in there.

Typically it will start with 192.168.x.x

Hope this helps a few people as well

danny_kay1710 - sorry for the double comment lol

» Static IP

It doesn't matter weather or not u have a static ip or not providing you configure the apps to look for your computer's ip not the routers not anything else.

Internet on the psp is going to work because ti searches for an access point your computer isnt an access point and therefor the PSP cannot detect it automatically you must tell it where to look.

It must be your computers IP address and it doesnt matter how you get this, you can get it dynamically (DHCP) or statically as long as you know what your ip is and configure all your homebrew apps with this it will work.

by madonion - 2006-08-14 03:38
» i was thinking the same thing!

Hey Danny, now i was thinking the same thing! anyhoo i have put it on static ip adress now, it doesnt matter. But i think its a prob with the routers firewall. I type in the correct ip adress, then cannot connect to host. or i was thinking maybe the program works with 192.168.1.1 ip and mine is like 192.168.0.1.....anyway i dont know. pimstreamer cant connect and pspradio neither. i can get anything else working lol but those two things wont connect. i mean my psp internet works fine and wifi games =/.
