This comes as an update for the VSH Rebooter PRX v0.2 app that MaTiAz released yesterday. He's re-releasing v.02 without the installer that came with the original bundle, meaning installation will once again be done manually. According to MaTiAz, people were attempting to run the bundle's topmenu_plugin.rco flasher, despite topmenu_plugin.rco being nonexistent in the PSP. He apologizes for any problems the miscommunication may have caused.

For those not exactly up to speed on this brew, Rebooter PRX reboots your PSP from the Network Update menu or Location Free TV menu. The plug-in also allows you to shuts down your PSP by hold the "L" button while selecting the Network Update/Location Free TV icon.

For now, we advise going through the README to hear the complete explanation for this change. Also be sure to check out VSH Rebooter PRX v0.1 for details on the installation. We'd like to thank MaTiAz for the heads-up.

from having instructions (in v0.2 w/installer), with critical points to mention 1/2 way thru the text file, to now the the v0.2 without installer, you now get no instructions.

Yes, i thought the same...shame on you QJ!

What do you use to flash it with?

How do u get the topmenu_plugin.rco file anyway? And isn't topmenu_plugin.rco the same file used for the custom XMB icons?

Please someone make this post a little bit clearer for me and others?

Matiaz should have coded the first one to check for the rco file prior to flashing... err, bricking people's PSPs. I never understood why some devs just don't think this sh1t through before releasing something. Part of the irrisponsibilit y of the first release also goes to QJ's staff for not warning people that didn't want to spend the time reading all the posts on here before they got all "install happy".

DEVS, ASSUME THAT NO ONE WILL READ YOUR README WITH PROGRAMS YOU RELEASE. MAKE THEM EASIER TO USE FOR THE VILLIAGE IDIOTS AND NEXT TIME PUT THE INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS IN THE POST YOU MAKE ON THE RELEASE OF THE SOFTWARE/DOWNLOAD LINK!!!!

people who don't know how to use this shouldn't be using it in the first place

developers who release to the public, should accomodate the public by means of concise instructions. but then again, its their creation, its up to them if they want to be viewed as a bad developer or not.

'not' has the perfect idea, and to expand on that. rather then have it display 'error could not find topmenu_plugin' it should have been a file check first. if file doesnt exist, DONT ERASE FILE.

commonsense doesnt come with owning a 1.5

Hmm... 3.03 uses an update_plugin.rco, not an update_plugin.prx. How should it be installed? I tried changing the file extension, but that just caused my PSP (3.03 OE-C) to crash.
