VideopSpy v3.0 - Image 1

We've previously seen a PRX module which lets you hide your files via the XMB. Today though, we've got a full blown app that allows you to make some sensitive media files of yours (videos and pictures) hidden.

The interesting thing about VideopSpy is that when accessed via the XMB, it looks like a normal homebrew calculator application. See the screencap above? Nothing suspicious about that right? And it's only when you input your correct code that your hidden files show up. Smaaart.

After a few months since the release of version 2.0, transce080 (previously known as dark420bishop) has finally come up with a new update which gives you a lot more options in hiding your sensitive files. VideopSpy v3.0 has the following details in its changelog:
  • Rewritten from scratch in C
  • Major graphical face-lift
  • New Instant Action mode
  • Expanded to include more directories
The readme is very comprehensive in that it has easy-to-follow installation instructions and other notes on FW/CFW compatibility. There's a section which explains how to hide (and unhide) your files, and an informative troubleshooting/FAQ guide that you can refer to just in case things get tricky, so make sure you take a look at the readme.

Thanks to transce080 for the tip!

JMS: what else would you hide? Maybe you're a die-hard shoujo fan and you can't let your friends know or they would never let you live it down? There are more reasons than just ONE, lol. Buncha pervs! J/k.

I don't understand such programs. Why should I hide my files? I don't my beloved PSP to others, so it's completely useless for me. Who gives his PSP in other hands? You could say "borrow friends" but then I usally save the files on my PC and copy the games he wants to play on the PSP. Much easier.

Re: I don't understand

If you had kids, coworkers, or siblings, maybe you'd understand.
