    • PsPGen

why is the download a .doc file? what do you want me to do with this? shouldn't it be a .rar, .exe, zip or some other file we can actually use?

Just delete off the extension .doc from the entire filename. Leave the .msi and it shall work fine..

# How do i reach the developer of this software?Guest 2007-06-14 21:24
Is there any way i can contact the developer? I use my PSP more for videos rather than gaming. Therefore an app like this is very very important for me. There are a few of this kind but all of them lack a certain feature. Organising!

The video apps:

1) 3gp Converter v0.34

Pros: Simple drag & drop without much of a hassle. Can be used together with PSP Content Manager for sorting video files.

Cons: Lack a few formats support. Mainly MP4

2) Winnydows' XviD4PSP 4.1.1.4

Pros: Nice UI, supports many formats.

Cons: Slow and too much of a hassle. Lacks organising video on PSP.

3) PSP Video 9 v2.24

Pros: User friendly interface. Supports various formats.

Cons: Lacks batch processing and organising video files.

4) Video Unlimited For PsP v1.3

Pros: Personalised interface, similar to PSP Video 9

Cons: Unnecessary information for users. Lacks estimated time to complete and most importantly a progress bar for completion of conversion. The funny thing is, there's a progress bar for memory usage. This app needs a lot more work done.

Overall, none of them has impressed me as an avid PSP user for videos. I am suggesting these to developers. Some of them have been implemented but these features below should make a perfect app.

1) Batch processing is VERY important.

2) Progress bar and estimated time to complete.

3) Auto-shutdown after conversion.

4) Uses hand in hand with K-Lite Codec Pack for more video format support.

5) A "PSPContentManag er" built in to the app for organising video files in VIDEO folder and MP_ROOT subfolders

6) Avoid including unnecessary processing information. Keep it simple.

7) Move to device from the software is a neat feature.

8) Allow users to choose settings which are already pre-set rather than allowing us to change every single detail. It makes the program user un-friendly.

That should be all. (:

Anybody knows how to contact the developer for this software which i think has potential?

# eh?Guest 2007-06-15 00:43
question... one of the people further up assumes that this allows playback of multiple formats on the psp... but the way i read it is that this is an encoder, so you still need to reencode existing movies so that they are playable on the psp... which is it?

what im hoping for is some psp homebrew that will allow me to simply drag and drop downloaded full resolution xvid encoded movies, with mp3 or ac3 audio, straight onto my memory stick and play em... it doesnt sound like this program will do that, but am i wrong? is that exactly what this program does? if not, its pretty useless...

What we need is a multi-format video player like Betaplayer or similar.

# thanks but...Guest 2007-06-15 09:54
as they said before, thanks, but we already have video encoders, what we need is a good media player for the psp, it's a pain in the ass to encode almost everything we wanna watch on the psp (you'll tell me: but there's psplayer!, max res:320x240)

we'd like to watch divx/xvid on our psp without the damn 480x272-320x240 limit resolution.

Just a comment to deathack. Have you ever tried the application named AVItoPMP? It is certainly my personal favourite, as it does the job fast and with a flawless end result.

if you see my post kinda up the page a bit, thats what i was kinda referring too. encoders are useless, all you need is virtualdub to resize the video and (in some cases) drop the bitrate a bit, and your set with mptest... WE DONT NEED ANY F**KING ENCODERS... WE DONT NEED PMP PLAYER UPDATES... dammit we dont need any of this half arsed rubbish, what we NEED is for someone to either remake, and find a way to finish working on mplayer test to allow high res video... its like all these twits are just wasting time with irrelivant crap like this program here, when the best two pieces of psp video playing software are like, what, over a year old? come on. enough crap. if you cant make something useful, dont make anything.
