VCS CheatDevice iFlasher for SE-B'' Users |

Apparently, there have been some reported difficulties with using the Vice City Stories CheatDevice among PSP owners who use Dark_AleX's 2.71SE-B'', so LordSturm stitched some code together to solve this and to allow the CheatDevice to be used without the need to go through DevHook.
With this flasher, LordSturm noted the following points:
- All flash operations are checked, so missing files will be reported and not dummy flashed.
- X now INSTALLS, O now UPDATES, [] now UNINSTALLS.
- You may simply update vcscheatdevice.prx via msroot, just press O.
- If you have cwcheat/oc/etc. flashed, please edit the text file before installing, as any previous updates to the file will be lost, same goes with uninstallation, which will remove all related mods.
As with any other application of this type, caution must be exercised in installing this as it has the potential to brick your PSP if installed incorrectly.

so how do you install this if you have the oc mod flashed? the instructions there are a little confusing
when i launch the program all it does is flash and reboots.. how do we start cheatdevice?

i have a 2.71 SEB'' and lets be honest who ever uses this most likely has an iso/cso version of this game.Well my point is im wodering if thats the reason why this cheat device doesnt work?or maybe its me idk...if it worked for you guys just let me know and how please:D

To run gtavcs below 2.81 without updating you need the follow: A sony psp, gtavsc & a copy of socom. Insert socom and load, as soon as you click the luanch socom and the white screen appears with psp, eject socom and insert gtavsc (you have to do this quickly) once you have done that, gta will load. Enjoy :)
just used cheatdevice for the first time ever its awesome
that shows how ignorant/poor you are. there's a lot less "isos pirates" then you think there is. just because you're doing it that doesn't means everyone does. some people actually can afford the game. especially a title like this that's a 'sure hit' for those into this kind of game.
Does it have to be Socom? I remember watching a video on youtube of a guy doing it with his original updater UMD.
As far as i know, yes it has to be socom.
I cant believe i let myself update to 2.80 when i was fine on 2.6, i miss using homebrew and the cheat device, hopefully there will be a 2.80 downgrader SOON!
just update 2.80 and 2.81 are the same....
ive used this flasher on my se-B'' and can say that its fully functional and working, thanks LordSturm! =) and thanks edison once again for a fine product as always =D
i have firmware 2.60 and i want to know how i can get 2.71 SE-B and wheather or not it can run vcs
2.80 has got tiff exploit while 2.81 doesnt and to asnwer your question you gotta do a umd swap trick im sure you can find it on google or youtube or something
How to run the cheatdevice when installed???
I have just tested 2 new games of trying to run gtavcs and they have been a success, the games what can now play gtavcs under fw2.81 are: TalkMan, Gtalcs & socom. These are the only games i have apart from gtavcs so feel free to try other games out and see if it works.
i didnt use this flashing module thing, but i used devhook.. it worked fine for me and im using the iso

well first off you need to check if you have ta082 motherboard. if you dont then get a 2.6 downgrader(do the research yourself) and once you have 1.5... well ill just quote somebody else with their guide(its a little bit modified): "Yesterday i had 1.5. Now im using this. What I did: 1. Downloaded SE-B New User Build from http://pspupdates.qj.net/2-71-SE-B-Installers/pg/49/aid/70730 2. Plugged my PSP into my computer and ran the program I downloaded in step 1. The install seemed to get stuck at 63%. I plugged my PSP into the charger and it resumed. 3. The installer put a new program into my PSP. I ran that and it installed SE-B. 4. I deleted unecessary files (optional). 5. Download se-b' http://pspupdates.qj.net/2-71-Custom-Firmware-SE-B-Released-UPDATE-/pg/49/aid/70515 (ignore the installation instructions there [se-b' an update for the original aka:its on the same page the original release was]) 6. Opened it up and then open the psp folder, copy the game150 folder into your "psp" directory, close out of usb and install that. once your done download se-b" here http://pspupdates.qj.net/Dark-AleX-s-latest-2-71-Custom-Firmware-update-SE-B-/pg/49/aid/71481 do the same thing as with se-b' for installation except that you'll see a "dh" folder. copy that to the root of your memorystick on your psp. close usb and install 7. Turned off (not sleep) my PSP and turned it back on while holding the R trigger. This lets you change some options (like being able to run ISOs without a UMD in your PSP), but this step is optional. 8. Enjoyed my VCS UMD and all the other things SE-B 3 offers!"
Why are there so many steps to do things???? For ex. you have to change the speeds from 133 or whatever to 333 in order for wifi and all that other junk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANT TAKE THIS! its like everything is incomplete!
I updated form SEB (the original) to SEB'' without updating to SEB' first. Could this be why it don't work?
did you have the oc mod or cwcheat flashed? if so, how do you flash cheatdevice with those mods(i have oc mod)
What the hell is your problem with 'piracy'. Sony, EA, Rockstar Games - They all make millions and billions a year in game selling. I don't really think either of those companies would care if you stole a game from them. 1 game is like $50, Rockstar makes $1,000,000,000 ish. Big deall.
i've heard tht installin dis makes other games not work somehow, like wen using isos, is this true? just in case, is there a way 2 uninstall this???
went to isohunt.com. looked for gtavcs. in all there might be 2000-5000 people downloading including seeds and leechers. 5000 people downloading+$250,000 lost. and i dont know where you get your numbers from, last time i checked, rockstars earnings were loooooowwww. remember the jack tompson ordeal? yeah, they didnt just get right back on their feet after that. what im sayin is, dont jump to conclusions. and its not just vcs losing money, lots of games from EA, SCEA, ROCKSTAR, lose money year round from piracy.say there are 3-4 games getting pirated from scea over the course of a year. they're gonna have about the same number of downloaders as vcs.thats a $700,000 - $1,000,000 loss think about that
[it works with iso or cso, put the VCSCHEATDEVICE in your game150 foldewr or your game folder and turn on your psp go to game on it and you will see the vcs file under games. hit x on it, then it will ask you to press x or cross. it installs you are doine .start up gtavcs you will see it automaticly or press UP and L at same tiem. iT S EASY SRY 4 SWPELLING IM ON PSP
