GPS for PSPBefore, we showed you Deniska's step-by-step guide on how to add a GPS receiver to your PSP. And basing from most of your reactions, you guys liked it and found it useful (as it's a very simple project as well).

Now, Deniska's back with a demo of this project. Below is a video of a PSP with a GPS add-on, and from the looks of it, it's quite good. The developer's currently working on bugs before releasing the GPS add-on program (to make it easier for those who aren't into hands-on PSP modifications, but would like to have a GPS receiver on their PSPs) sometime soon.

Thanks a lot Matthias for the heads-up!

He get the maps with an script, the scripth goes to goodgle maps and you especifique the location that you want to get

and the zoom so you get just the area that you need not the whole world map!! (because it don't fit in a memory stick) the script is programed in java and the map will be with java extencion.....Very good project keep the good work!!

we can just put in the area we live in and about 100 miles around that? if we could do that you may have a map about 30 MB and if we need to go on a trip just put in the right areas

I'd kill to have Google Maps on my PSP, especially the satellite view. GPS I'd probably hardly ever use, unless it had a waypoint editor/markers.

If this works properly, it will easily become my favorite homebrew to date.

Great work! Really looking forward to this.

Looks good!

But it could be difficult to watch at the screen when there's too much sunlight, right?

And isn't it complectated to follow the street when the map is not moving? So if you're driving forward the card shows how your car is moving backwards on the street (watch the 2nd video and you know what I mean).

Anyway, I really look up to people who get things like that running on their PSP. I'm sure it's a lot of work [but also fun in the end :) ].

would i beable to put a Pensacola Florida map in the program? also a feature that lets it tell you how to get to your destination would be sweet. if you add these features then it would be the best home brew ever, since i really suck at finding my way around town. also where did you get that psp car holder your using?

How could this guy get a GPS working by himself when Sony's been working on it for years? Where's your GPS attachment, Sony? Maybe we can forget about Sony's Playstation emulator too? Can someone please work on that some more?
