Unofficial MapThis! |
Ó
Thanks to Ranmax09 from our forums for posting this interesting bit up on the site! Atari800 has just released his Unofficial MapThis homebrew application for the PlayStation Portable over at PS-News. Of course, he gives proper credit to Deniska, In7ane, and MIB.48 as the "REAL brilliant wizards behind this."Anyway, according to Atari800, this is based on 4.99 beta and should contain the following changes:
- added speech for:
- searching for satellites
- satellite found and fixed
- only does this once when starting up
- when you go GPS mode onI automatically drop CPU to 111 mhz
- once your fixed - I bump it back up to 333mhz
- It speaks to you
- left turn ahead
- right turn ahead
- arrived at destination
- Adjusted the warning distance based on the speed you are driving
- adjust WARNINGDISTANCE=30 in config file for how much area to search when at a stand still. If you go 20 miles an hour - the warning distance is 50
- Placed circle around you to show warning distance when driving - you can see the area get bigger as you drive faster and smaller as you slow down
As for what's up next with this project, he says he'd like to go see if he can take the BEARING (direction we are going) and look ahead only. Also, he'd like to get into a small neighborhood with lots of quick lefts and rights. But this, unfortunately, could just be his last build for him.
Anyways, you may find out more about his plans, as well as his request on not to be bugged for additional features like pinging for wifi hotspots or whatnot, over at our forums, which you may access through our link below.
Oh, and this works with the official PSP GPS Receiver and Custom Firmware 3.40 OE. Enjoy, guys!

Cool, good job!
This one wont load my map at all but the real regular non stolen one works mint. And yes I did stick this in game and not the game150
Loading maps works fine for me :) When you first start the program the CPU is set to 111 mhz untill it finds a FIX it changes to 333 mhz on its own.
If i dont autoload the map it will start when I then select the map it crashes after 3 seconds.
Try disabling some of your plugins. I had 6 enabled that made mine stopped working. Hope this helps.
Dont have any plugins runnging.. As i said the real one works mint this one does not..At least for me anyway
gonna test this, got it to run no sattelites found yet. i noticed that just scrolling around the map is slower in this release than in the official. and i wonder if deniska is cool with this type of release
# when you go GPS mode onI automatically drop CPU to 111 mhz * once your fixed - I bump it back up to 333mhz
will this defo work on 3.40 oe-a without GPS and while using GMDL??? also which EBOOT should you use with no GPS? the v0.3 one or the one in this pack??? thanks in advance
i know that, but its annoyingly slow at 111, why not put it at 222? is the chance of it freezing up a lot less at 111 versus 222?
Really nice! Just what I wanted on the next update, the voice commands. And cool how you have it auto adjust the MHz. And I'm sure Deniska is cool with it, it's helping develop the program more and he did release the source files so I'm sure he does want other developers advancing it.
does any body knows how to go to gps mode
hit square when you're in a map
Great, I get to have some nerd telling me when to turn. I think I'll be changing them...
ditto! this guy sounds like Judah Friedlander on coke. and the woman sound bites have electronic noise all over it which make it sound terrible. definitely gonna replace the recordings... just fyi, these same "additions" made on this UNOFFICIAL version will undoubtedly be released soon OFFICIALLY with Deniska's seal of a approval. in all seriousness, i could have made a couple of "if" "then" statements like this dude did and sliced it into the original. this bastardized work kinda pisses me off. leave coding to the professionals, open source does not mean you just re-release originals with mods, thats just silly.
i have a psp that was 2.81 then i downgradetd to 1.50 then upgrade to dax CF 3.40 oe a and now i cant play my umd movies i need help i want to play my umds
wow, you sure found the right forum for that... i dont know - go to afterdawn.com and search for that *****
For some reason this aint runnin on my 3.40 OE-A anyone got the same problem. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sony-PSP-console-8-Games-3-Movies-2-Memorycards-extras_W0QQitemZ140125169612QQihZ004QQcategoryZ75556QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Good complaint - action taken Personally - I liked the off beat releases myself
but it lags to much then it freeze and it turn off the whole system "psp".. sometimes it works fine..
