Linux penguin - Image 1Homebrew developer Jackson Mo just updated the uClinux port to the Sony PlayStation Portable and added new features to the application. uClinux version 2.6.22-uc1 is packed with a configurable loader, a joypad driver that allows Linux programs to recognize inputs from PSP buttons, and an on-screen keyboard.

Jackson Mo also made the homebrew application compatible with Busybox 1.7, which gives users access to other Linux utilities. Including a patched MIPS tool chain allows you to create programs in a Linux environment on your PSP. Important details for those who want the most out of uClinux can be found at the developer's website, so head over to the link below.

For now, we'll leave you with uClinux v2.6.22-uc1.

Agreed. The PSP's D-pad has issues with diagonal controls requiring a very firm press and almost luck to catch some of the keys on the diagonal boxes.

Looking forwards to WiFi support and a built-in SSHD (Or even a Telnet server) to be able to work with it from full machine!
