Theme-swapping made easy with ThemeMagic! |
Ó
To be precise, ThemeMagic! makes a backup of your current theme and allows you to save it in a file format that the homebrew application can understand. This then will let users swap quickly between themes. ThemeMagic!, as you might have realized by now, is very useful especially when you're using a theme with an rco and you want to change it to another which doesn't have one, and vice versa.
Aside from that, the homebrew application has a "ThemesAddNew" folder that will let you make additions to your current theme instead of resetting to the original one. ThemeMagic! was tested on 3.0x OE and 3.10 OE-A. While homebrew developer TheAceOfFire believes that this application is safer than most flashing, the dev still recommends to be careful and have a fully charged battery before using it.
Lastly, a step-by-step installation for ThemeMagic! has been provided in the accompanying readme file so be sure to go over that first. Enjoy!

Yesssss First Post!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
It would be nice to see this grow into a real psp program, rather than need to go to recovery mode and run a batch file on a pc :( Either way its a good start to a great idea!!
Here's my thoughts....
While running on the psp it would be great to either use just folder seperation to put all the rco files in a folder of the theme name, then the psp program would list the folders in a specific location on the psp and upon selecting a folder the program would
1. calculate the current used space
2. determine which files are in the directory to be transfered
3. subtract the storage used by the existing files that are to be overwritten
3. add that space plus the size of the files in teh directory
4. If there is enough space it would delete the original files, then copy the new files and BAM, you got a new theme and it seems prety safe!
Damnit why did I cheat my way through C++ programming in college by buying people beer to do my projects :(
Sure hope someone can put my words into a program!!
Oh, but your words are in a program. They are in QJ's database.
Seriosly though, those are some good ideas, hope the programmer takes them into consideration.
also, now you see the importance that education blah blah blah.... can i have some beer?
Maybe... I didn't want to do something on the PSP though, because I didn't wanna brick mine testing it...
^_^ I created a fake PSP on my hard drive, and tested it on there untill I was sure it was safe enough to test on mine...
O.o but sure, if anyone wants to take this and run with, more power to ya.
There is a folder that will be made called Theme, and inside it a folder that will be made called AddNew. Its not a folder called ThemeAddNew... Also, remember guys, Topmenu_plugin.rco will not work on 3.10 OEA.
I don't know who you are, but $*(#$# your sexy.
TheaceOf Fire is a great coder, he made teh sutodowngraer and a few other things
Hey TheAceOfFire, it would be real nice if you could make an app like this for the psp in a eboot form..
I agree with the guy above. If this were made into eboot format, this would be a much greater application than it already is.
I agree with all of ya. How do you convert bat into eboot?
How do you make eboot?
^_^;;; Sorry, it would be very difficult for me to do this right now... and by the time I learn how, I am sure something better would be out.
why swap while I got mine hacked so I can play pops while have the custom *****.
havent tryed the porgam i was reading the artical and thinking that a good eboot would be themes that you could save to the mem stick launch the eboot then just choose (out of a list) of witch are all your themes . that would make a smack ass program.
but I wouldn't use it. I prefer to replace everything manually
