Here's Installer Maker - Image 1

It looks like KlmSoftware network's further refined the process of making easy homebrew installers. A day or so after the release of Homebrew Installer Maker v0.2.6, they've made another revision that removes some annoyances from the previous version.

As Maniac from the Klm team notes, this new version promises the following.
  • Fixed a lot of bugs
  • No more editing XML files
  • Creates a self extracting exe file to distribute
  • Improved structure of executing
Of course, we were a bit remiss in the previous article related to this, so we hope this new version (which is definitely the app in question) will help you guys to come out with newbie-friendly versions of your homebrew apps, as well as "shiny rainbows" and "chocolate chip cookies." Enjoy the download!

So this version ONLY creates an exe file with the actual homebrew baked in? I seriously hope this doesn't become a standard, mainly for non-Windows users.

I agree with you "coolguy5678", first of all it's an exe which means one more process to bugg windows down with, secondly it's so OS depending, might work with wine though but just distributing a zip/rar/tar.gz is so much easier, and you can just place it in the correct folder yourself (even if the installers from this has some way of solving it)

nice idea. and users of mac and linux, remember most zip tools can recognize sfx's as sfx'x and open them as a zip file.

That isn't right !

You lie when you pretend that most sfx could be open in linux.

Ship HB in exe would mean that Linux and Mac users won't have access to them.

That is something we can't accept !

Looks like I've got some competition... I guess it's healthy for the end users...
