Team M33 - Image 1 Just when we thought that there's enough good news today to fuel a high school musical (*ahem*), we find out that there's more. Team M33 has released its Universal Popsloader alongside its teaser for PSP Slim CFW 3.60.

This release is certainly a great one for those who enjoy their PSOne games. The Universal Popsloader is compatible with previous POPS releases. Here are the details from M33's release thread (and the readme file):
  • Added the remaining pops: 3.00-3.03
    • These pops require the following modules: kd/meaudio.prx kd/popsman.prx kd/pops.prx and vsh/module/pafmini.prx. As always, they go in seplugins/popsloader directory with the naming meaudio3xx.prx, popsman3xx.prx etc.
  • Added compatibility between savedata <= 3.30 and those of 3.40 and higher.
    • The thing works like this: If you have been playing in for example 3.52 pops, and then you select a pops from 3.00-3.30, popsloader will automatically convert the savedata into the old format.
    • The reverse operation, from old format to new format, will be done by Sony code with a confirmation dialog.
  • popsloader plugin work in 3.51 M33, 3.52 M33 and..... 3.60 M33 for PSP slim. Coming soon.
Kind of hard to miss those subtle hints, eh? Check out the download below. Feel free to tell us what you think in the comments section below. Enjoy!

by imk - 2007-09-09 19:27:19
come on

it's not hard to get the files yourself... just get psardumper and download the individual firmwares, dump them and then get the files you need
by - 2007-09-09 19:37:42
help

cant i extract it using the pc?
by - 2007-09-09 19:39:19
What firmwares

What firmware versions do I need to extract the PRXs from?
by imk - 2007-09-09 19:39:31
no

you have to extract with the psp, and they cant be given out because they are encrypted, copyrighted files... the files you use are decrypted
by Blade Hunter - 2007-09-09 19:52:20
WTF

Stop using my name. Be more creative and come up with your own. In your case a few have sprung to mind already.
by - 2007-09-09 20:12:54
I'm wondering that too

I think it has something to do with playing PS1 games on the PSP but I've never used it and all my PS1 games work fine on 3.52 M33-4. So I'm not sure what it's for.
by - 2007-09-09 20:30:18
can't wait

psp slim comes out on tuesday here in cali for $199.99, im geting one before sony comes out with firmware 3.61
by - 2007-09-09 21:01:07
psp slim hackable ?

does this mean the psp slim can be hacked? or does it mean the psp slims fw will become cfw for the original psp?

Sony resists but....

Sony resists but still gets bent over a frocked up the ying-yang. Now they're going to spin around and suck it!

Pandora Battery and mem stick

guys, have u's tried using the 3.52 M33 eboot instead of the 1.5 eboot for the magic memstick??? so instead of downgrading to 1.5 using da battery nad memstick, u go directly to 3.52! If this by any chance is possible, you can change the eboot to the 3.60 for psp slim! remember, the 1.5 kernel is also embedded into 3.52M33 so its all cool, i'll give it ago tonight!

.

I can't get the 3.30 firmware dumped no matter what I do. It always gives me some error. I already have 3.03, 3.02, 3.10, 3.11 so that would give me a good selection. Can someone just host it because it's a f*cking pain in the ass and the program that's supposed to do it doesn't work or come with instructions!

Wow , you must be a pretty stupid little retard.. Popsloader is a plugin that lets you use Popstation files from different firmware's...
by - 2007-09-10 05:12:55
~

It loads the popstation files from different firmwares.. Idiots
by - 2007-09-10 06:24:47
I must be an idiot...

All of my PS1 games are playing fine on 3.52 M33-4 as well. I have never understood what is meant by popstation files from different firmwares. Are you talking about the save files or the game eboot? I don't understand how the eboot could be associated with any particular firmware. Could someone please explain. Thanks in advance.

by Mister Common Sense - 2007-09-10 09:46:35
just download the whole package here

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AYT9G88W Screw downloading, decrypting, and dumping each firmware. What a pain in the ass! Get the program and every POPS version here!
by Mister Common Sense - 2007-09-10 09:52:06
.

Some PS1 games work better with older firmwares. That's what popsloader is for. Tomb Raider games don't work after 3.03. Final Fantasy VIII works best on 3.11 (although still crashes randomly.) Many games work on all firmware POPS. I think sony is making PS1 compatibility worse on newer firmware, why? I don't know.

PopsLoader menu ?

How do you bring up the PopsLoader selection menu in the newest version - the menu that lets you chose which Pops version. Before you just had to hold R while game loads correct? - doesn't seem to work that way. Thanks.
by - 2007-09-10 22:22:18
been meaning 2 ask...

what the hell is popsloader
by - 2007-09-10 23:55:40
To all the noobs...

Reading over all the forums i see that people are claiming M33 is way better then dax, but in the beggining if there was no DAX or Noobz or Fanjita there would be no M33 they use all of there programs to allow there own programs to work
by - 2007-09-11 00:37:23
disregard

Disregard my previous question - Thought I had pluging enabled but wasn't when I checked again.
by Goobers - 2007-09-17 04:41:26
default pops

anyone know a way to set the default? i mean right now, it gives you the choice the first time when you play a POPS game... but seeing as i'm a lazy mofo... i don't want to deal with it for all games... only the game i know that don't work (or find out they don't work) with the default that i chose to set it for.
