Stream ALL your homebrew with "My Psp Shell" |
Ó

Yet another day, and yet another shell. Or maybe not. We've just received word about a new shell which has been released by Cpasjuste. Now I'm quite a practical guy and I know that there's too many of these "shells" around. Not a problem for me, but frankly, if there's no distinguishing feature in a shell, it won't be popular. And that's a fact.
Nothing to worry for Cpasjuste though, his shell does offer quite a few nice functions, bettering even the great IR Shell in a few areas. Firstly, a few words from the author:
"Hello here, i have work on a new shell for the psp (yet another psp shell :p ).
I have worked hard on the eboot loader/stream part of the appz and im really happy of the result.
It should be possible to launch almost all homebrew games and emulators with streaming possibility unlike IrShell.
Its why i release an early beta of "My Psp Shell", i know that people will help to test this base and find bugs :)
Many more to come"
So how's it better than IR Shell, you may ask. Well, remember that this is still a beta version, but it does offer one feature which is better than what IR Shell offers. And it's the possibility to stream all homebrew using PSPLINK by TyRaNiD. In case you don't know, IR Shell does offer this feature, but it has problems with a few emulators, like Snes9xTYL.
And it also supports loading custom firmware. I'll list out the features here:
- Switch ms0 (memory stick) with usbhost0 (usb connection) or nethost0 (wifi connection).
- Browse, load and/or stream homebrews from ms0, usbhost0, nethost0.
- Load modded PSP VSH shell, thanks Dark_Alex. Note that wifi or usb connection will be lost if homebrew is launched from here, so not very useful for now.
- Change cpu clock (33, 222, 266, 300, 333 mhz).
- Enable, disable USB Mass Storage.

Its ok I suppose but then again its still a shell lol
Yawn, one feature better than Irshell? Lets not make comparisions otherwise this "shell" is going to look ridiculously simple.
I noticed that this comes with a custom firmware version that overwrites the config.txt file hence overwriting my settings. It seems that different custom firmwares have slightly different config file so, as long as the psplink.prx is loaded is everything else expendable?
Now I'm confused. I thought that the custom firmware folder was for custom firmware but, that doesn't really seem to be it either. So, whats up with these folders?
incorporate the ability to stream isos from your computer and i will be a happy man.
i need that too
I noticed the DevHook can recognize the ISO folder and its' contents. It just happens that it freezes on start up though.
I noticed that it can't run devhook with the usbhostfs0:/ remapped to ms0:/. And I mean with all the Devhook files on the computer, none on the memstick. I'm really trying to get this to work as I only have a 32mb stick.
same problem as #8 and #9, the same problem that was in another psp shell...
it looks for UMDEMULATOR/ISO sometimes which makes no sense, and cant reboot the new firmware xmb either
Ir shell lets you go back to the shell from the eboot you have just streamed.
How is this peice of crap better?
its just a small technical problem that will get fixed when ahman gets back from his vacation.
My opinion. This is just another shell.
WITH THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT ITS A LAUNCHER NOT A SHELL. SHELLS YOU CAN GO BACK TO. LAUNCHERS JUST LAUNCH.
If a small memory stick is your problem then I recommend putting DevHook USB MOD on your stick and run your games via usb from your HD.
I do that, except when I have the FW dump on the memstick, I have no room for other HB. I want to be able to keep some on the memstick and still use devhook with usb without having to repetively copy the FW dumps on and off the memstick.
how do you use this.
can somebody put up instructions on how to set up this program
You can clock it down to 33mhz??
SNES certainly works in iR Shell. There's a redirection mechanism which you can use for stubborn homebrew that refuses to work. It helps to read up on iR Shell first.
