Slash-N-Flash version 3 - Image 1

Homebrew coder and Team Duck member Slasher given us word here at QJ Central that he has released a theme pack for the popular Slash-N-Flash version 3 for the PlayStation Portable.

In case you're not familiar with the homebrew application, Slash-N-Flash is a generic flashing app that can flash "whatever files your heart desires". While we're on the subject of flashing, let us remind you that whenever dealing with flash0, you've got a risk of turning your PSP into a shiny paperweight (read: A BRICK) so remember to read the readme, back up your flash0, and read the readme again.

Anyway, this theme pack is designed only for those running Slash-N-Flash on CFW 3.52 M33. Slasher notes, "DO NOT FLASH THESE ONTO ANY OTHER FIRMWARE. 3.52 ONLY!" That puts the point across, eh? Well, the theme pack includes six prepackaged and ready to use themes (applecor, circacor, DNA, LargeIcons, textXMB, and vectorix) to beef up the original three included in Slash-N-Flash version 3.

At any rate, check out themes by clicking the link below. Remember to read the readme that comes with the pack for installation instructions and other pertinent info.

Why do they even bother with the brick warning any more?

With the advent of Pandora's Battery there is no longer any PSP software that CAN permentaly brick a PSP. Short of tossing your PSP off the roof of a building there is not much that can truly brick it now. -Timboman2000

You fool. I'm not entirely sure everyone wants to throw away their money on a brand new battery and go to the trouble of reinstalling their plugins and custom firmware just because.

Well...

Once You've got one Pandora's Battery, a MagicStick, and a spare, you could pretty much brick to your heart's content, though, that would be ill advised....

Muhaha

A standard battery can be used, and it doesn't become completely useless... According to a source... If you simply access your flash0, and COPY ( not CUT ffs. ) y0ur "kd" folder to the memorystick, you will have no problems booting with the battery inserted... :D Also, you can charge the battery, and you can swap it in if a charger is in the PSP. :D ( I got a spare battery suckers, and a 64MB Pro Duo, MUHAHAHA. )

Hey, now I have a paperweight too. I was more worried about m33's firmware bricking my psp. Hey Slasher .,l,, Now I guess I have the chance to try out this new Pandora Thanks to the Powers that Be there is some people out there who know what the F*** there doing. *Note: just follow slashers directions and you too can try out Pandora... you'll need it too!!

You are truly a moron. If you bricked your PSP while using such a harmless, and tested may I add app, you are truly an idiot. I've tested these themes myself several times. Follow the instructions. The beauty of my app is that if you happen to brick your PSP, it's totally user error.

Your battery doesn't become useless. You can restore your battery after you unbrick your PSP. http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-homebrew-and-hacks-help-21/t-pandora-battery-can-be-normalized-read-118831.html

yeah right whatever

I followed your directions like I followed everyone elses. and have never had any problems until this. Pandora worked just fine in restoring my PSP to working order. I've owned this unit since they came out, and have flashed cfw's and used other theme flashers but this is the worst. U Suck, and so does your Hack-n-Slash psp bricker software. -.l,,

To unbrick my old one i'm saying do i need a psp that can access the mem stick etc and then use the battery from that one on my old psp and so forth

Ok program but....

I used this programs and noticed that some of my homebrew apps would stop working after I flash the themes. DAX umd dumper, Duke Nuke 'em, wifisniffer all crashed after I flashed the themes. But, my cps1 ,cps2, cwcheat data base downloader, and dungeon still worked. As soon as I re-flashed the default theme all of my faulty homebrew apps would work again. I've toggled hard reset on home brew on and off but it wouldn't work. The themes are cool but I'd rather have function over flair. If any one could figure this out I'd appreciate it.

now there you go again, showing that you do not have the intelligence to admit that your app SUCKS ASS!!!!

Lamers Need to Shut Up

Man this is my favorite flasher app and works fine for anyone who has half a fricken brain cell. All you lamers out there shut up. If you dont like it dont use it. And i garauntee that most of you who "bricked" ur psp probably saw that ur screen didnt come on and then gave up all hope. try recovery mode. if you were smart you would have backed up ur flash0 and all you have to do is copy to your desktop delete corrupt one on psp and copy paste old one into psp. anywyas nice work slasher and btw i had a slight prob with dna and vectorix. they dont work. when i exit program the screen stays blank. only the applecor and circacor work for me. any advice.
