After the release of the three updated versions of SCEP-XMB the other day, you'd think that homebrew coder Poisonhzkj will call it a day already. Well, you're wrong because he is back and he's just updated the plugin once more to make it compatible with 3.30 OE-A users.

Basically, what the SCEP-XMB plugin does is enable "scx.prx" in "vsh.txt" as well as "scx_mg.prx" in "game.txt". This is mostly useful for usbhost game playing. As for the features of this release, one member of DCEmu Forums, BelmontSlayer, came up with this list:
  • Screenshot: Allows you to take a capture of the screen
  • CPU Speed: Allows you to change the speed of the CPU
  • System Information: View the battery life/temperature/CPU frequency
  • Power Off: Power off the PSP
  • Restart: Restart the PSP
  • OE Config: Change the custom firmware settings
  • Mount USBHost : Load UMD backups via a usb connection
  • Settings: Change the plugin's settings
    • Password: Enter a password to protect your system at startup
    • VSH Analog: Activate the support of the joystick in the XMB
    • SCEP Buttons: Change the confirmation and hotkey buttons
    • Save DIR: Change the directory where screenshots are saved
A little reminder though, the program doesn't come with a Readme file so be sure that you know what you are doing. It would be wise to back up your files and take all necessary precautions.

How do you use this? I put the plugins in and enabled them, but I don't get how you're supposed to get to the screens they show here.

Hi! Congrats on this awesome plugin! I was using it since 3.10OE and its really a must have! I have to notice though that i have problem using this version. Every time i push SELECT the PSP freezes and it turns off automatically. The only way to make it work is by opening a submenu (like video settings or photo settings), close it and then push select. This way the plugin works. I have a modded 3.30OE-A psp (by modded i mean everything except a new font and a new gameboot).

Thanks in advance if you will be able to fix this issue!

So you put the folder seplugins on your root of your ms, then you go into recovery mode, and enable the plugins. Go to videos, hit x to get into the mode, then press select. You'll get a menu.

I can't get the usbhosts to work.. When I load an iso, it acts as if it was going to load it, then it just freezes on a black screen.

Yep, it works. But it's strange, anyway. Freezes too much, but it's not a beta! Poisonhzkj, work on the stability!

# very buggyaxelixc 2007-04-18 06:49
1) usbhostfs sometimes work sometimes not depends on luck

2) enable password froze psp upon reboot

3) hot key not working

4) module loader not implemented yet i think

5) can't change cpu speed eventhough recovery set default

6) activate at xmb froze psp. must do it in video subfolder.

I'll wait for beta version

lol,it's strange but works ok when system language is set to French :)) otherwise it freezes when i push select

# ahhhGuest 2007-04-18 07:50
it occured this plugin reacts to any language change, not french O_O

and by the way vsh.txt misses one line-ms0:/seplugins/scm.prx,and there's only one concerning scx.prx..but it doesnt change the matter-usbhost still freezes when select your iso ((

will wait for stable version

# i just had a thought...Guest 2007-04-18 09:06
if you can change the network update xmb icon to something else, why not make it a network update to Dark_AleX's custom firmware? It makes sence, and shouldnt be too hard to come up with...

this is a very useful idea for ppl who dont want prying eyes to check out their content. or ppl who just dont want to share. however, it only seems to ask me for password from a hard reset. s0 only if your psp is completely off and the person using it doesnt know that the memcard inside has to be inside when powered on, then its awesome thanks!

# Helpful advise...GaveUpTomorrow 2007-04-18 10:08
First off, there are almost no bugs that I can find with this release except for the CPU speed not registering.

If you can't get usbhost to work though, try adding this line into the 'game.txt' file : "ms0:/seplugins/SCEP/usbhostfs.prx" It has worked everytime for me after I did this, so give it a try. Not sure how it would work without it honestly, unless the scx_mg.prx handles that...but it sure doesn't work in its current state. Hopefully this will help a few people out ;)

It'd be cool if you could tell us what the rest of your settings are also. Like, is no-umd enabled or disabled, is plain modules in umd/iso enabled or disabled? Things like that would help.
