Run UMD v0.01 Experimental - Load 2.00+ UMDs On 1.50

Saturn Expedition Committee has released Run UMD version 0.01. This Run UMD is a tool for launching UMD games that require 2.00 or higher system software on a 1.50 PSP. Unlike MPH's 2.0 UMD Game Loader, this tool is much simpler. However, it seems they are having the same problem - unable to access the game saves on your memory stick sometimes.

The usage of this tool is simple. Copy over and start. Then throw in the UMD you want to play and press circle to let the program to extract the system files from the UMD (this action is only required for the first time). After it's done, a message saying "Press X:" will appear. Then, press the X button and pray!

NOTE: You need the UMD to use this program

The game that have been tested so far are:

Me & My Katamari Damacy - Working, can't read game saves
Valkyrie Profile - Black screen death
Devil Summoner - Starts but saying corrupted game save data
Monster Hunter Portable - Working, save/load OK
Gradius Portable - Black screen death
Jewel Summoner - Black screen death
Extreme Samurai Warriors - Working, save/load/resume OK
EXIT - Stuck at "Now Loading..."
Princess Crown - Working, save/load/resume OK
Metal Gear Acid 2 - Working, save/load/resume OK
Harvest Moon - stuck on an error message on the left top of the screen

Just in case anyone cares I tried out Kingdom of Paradise and it works great. I can save and use sleep mode. I hope someone makes a list of all current UMD games that will work with 1.5 firmware by this method or otherwise. go back to the official sony webpage "evilboy" this sites always posted the news of these type of apps. It's only recently they tried to pretend they have a conscience.

And I hope they continue to cover this kinda stuff otherwise I really dont see the point in visiting this site. If I wanted to be ignorant and pretend they didn't exist I'd just visit IGN everyday.

ok im gonna clear up the gta works comments. fyi i have the UK version.

gta loads and will load the last saved game you used. you cannot load any other save games after that. you can save the current game (i used a new slot just to be safe) and then you can reload that game as often as you want. this means that you cannot use the cheat device at all unless you want to have that as the default save that loads each time, but you cannot load another after that.

Multiplayer doesn't work at all. it will let you access it but the wlan light does not flash and does not make any attempt to connect to anything.

Sleep mode works fine and single player works fine. I haven't played for long so im not sure if it will continue working for a length of time. Chaoskeeper said that it only works for a few minutes I will confirm this after more testing.

The only other 2.0 game that I have is pursuit force but I have not tested that yet. i will and let you know my results.

I've tested my GTA:LCS [EUR VERSION] and it works, CheatDevice 0.9 works also, no problems, It loads fine, the saves loads fine... So GTA:LCS WORKS!! 100%

When this loader is tried with a UMD emulator of Monster Hunter and then used with this program... This does not work.

You get an Patch failed error and PSP freezes... becareful.

I hope they get this fixed

Krnet2dboi, maybe you should read better. This is a 2.0+ UMD launcher, not a ISO launcher. It says right on the post "NOTE: You need the UMD to use this program"

I tried starting Pac Man World using this program and after a long pause at the Loading screen the PSp shut itself off. On the other hand, Harry Potter started without any problems. Both games require firmware 2.0.

the only thing changed in katamari USA version was the 2.6 firmware. im pretty sure if u load 2.5 firmware off a umd then load katamari without trying to load the 2.6 firmware it should run. But i cant test it cuz i dont have a umd with 2.5 firmware on it. if someone can load there 2.5 umd game's firmware and sent me the "x" folder in the memory sticks root i should be able to run it.

.......... I ran runUMD then I pressed load UMD (or something like that) then it says now loading... then the screen became black with the messege "start error" on the top left corner...and now I CAN' T GET OUT OF THAT SCREEN!!!!
