Released for testing - PSP Earth Beta v0.2 |
Ó
About two weeks ago, PSP homebrew developer mat_dizzy announced a teaser for an upcoming project named PSP Earth. For the guys who haven't heard about it yet, this application promised PSP owners access to webcams worldwide via the PSP's wireless internet capability (Wi-Fi).
In case you're wondering how the project's been progressing so far, the developer has just announced release of PSP Earth Beta v0.2. This version, being beta and all, is just a demonstration of how the app's engine works, and a teaser of things to come.
For the moment, PSP Earth only has three webcam streams, and is coded in HTML, Flash, Java, and Visual Basic - mat_dizzy plans to code it into Lua (with accompanying EBOOT) format in the near future. Make sure to check out the file readme for usage instructions before anything else. Guys interested in trying PSP Earth will want to have these following items ready (quoting the readme):
- A Playstation Portable
- Firmware 2.00 - 3.50 + 3.03oea - 3.40oe. Basically any firmware with internet capabilities - note the flash sections will not be played on any firmware below 2.71
- A wireless internet router
- Preferably a memory stick duo (if not host them on your own server as we do not provide it like that)
- A fast internet connection to have a stable refresh rate, I'd say 1mbps+ will be fine

Pretty cool
*****
you are a stupid N.I.G.G.E.R.
it lags alot but still really cool watching people around the world
interesting, kinda cool to watch, its raining in NYC right now i see...
haha i see that too!!
This is very nice, It can be better than the new google street view feature. I grew up in new york, now live in georgia so it's pretty cool using the street view to see what things have changed. Hope more webcams get added. Great job on this app and wish you good luck.
in the "usatimessqaurew ebcam.html" edit it and change the number "05;" to "01.5;" and it will be real time, so you can see ppl walking and stuff, its great i seen someone call for a cab LOL.
This is similar another one of my earlier unvoiced ideas, looks like you got there before me! Nice job! :)
All i get is a red X no screen.
btw to get it to work u must be connected to the internet first. to do that, open any web like google.com then close google and open up the oh-so-awsome pspearth. this help?
is this app like Google Earth?
hope so...
if it is... cant wait for PSP Earth non beta version...
and if it is not... then make the next version like Google Earth!!!
;)
THANKS FOR THIS!!!
im gonna test it!!!
i have firmware 3.50 can i use this
only 3 of these awsome cameras work for me :(
any people put there does all of theme work for u ..is it just my psp :(
NO , you cant use 3.50 for this sorry
Only 3 works for me, I think the inactive ones are just there to show you they will be added in future.
It's pretty cool, although not as useful as the Google Street View service of course. I can see Trafalgar Square in almost real-time! Times Square looks ugly.
it can work on any psp with inter net capibility so it would work on 2.00 to any firmware it says it in the article Firmware 2.00 - 3.50 + 3.03oea - 3.40oe. Basically any firmware with internet capabilities - it also had it in bold ..........
Firmware 2.00 - 3.50 + 3.03oea - 3.40oe. Basically any firmware with internet capabilities -
so yes u can
nice one wouldnt have tried tht myself its not quite real time but definitely a lot better
i cant wait for the next release! i just want to know how to do it myself.
read the description:
For the moment, PSP Earth only has three webcam streams
i think he was being sarcastic... notice the big no.....
Read my ass hole. It says-
I FART IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION!
how do you change that setting on your pc?
hey i did everything it said in the read me file but it keeps saying dns error occorured
