RCO Editor now in version 1.14b - Image 1Homebrew application RCO Editor is already synonymous with the name ZiNgaBuRgA. If you haven't been paying attention to this program, it's pretty much self-explanatory. Basically, your PlayStation Portable (PSP) unit contains various RCO files or localized resources (icons, sounds, text, etc.), and the RCO Editor allows users to tinker with these files. That's pretty nifty, if we may add.

Now, developer ZiNgaBuRgA just released a new version for his pet application. Now in version 1.14b, RCO Editor offers more customization options. The complete changelog is as follows:

RCO Editor v1.14b
  • Fixed minimize crash
RCO Editor v1.14
  • Minor changes/bug fixes
  • Should now be fully compatible with the new decompressed 3.40 RCOs
  • Note that the newer style GIMs support heights which aren't a multiple of 8
  • However, RCO Editor will require replaced images to have a height which is a multiple of 8 to preserve compatibility with older versions
The developer noted that this program will only work with decrypted RCO files and FW 2.50 and FW 2.60 are preferred. Using earlier files on higher firmwares may cause minor glitches to semi-bricking. The Readme file has a full instruction manual and other pertinent information so don't forget to read that first.

no no no

firmwares 2.5 and 2.6 are the latest firmwares than have unencrypted .rco files such as topmenus and coldboots. Recently firmware 3.40 .rco files were decrypted but i guess this hasn't been updated yet.

WOOT!

this was my first try of this app ( actually my first self-made editing at all ;) ) and I'm fascinated of this app... Very cool functions, good GUI, perfect... Man I think of the old times with eLoader in FW 2.60.... I haven't even dreamed of such XMB menus... xD
