Quake v2 Auto-Installer Final Released |
Ó

You still get the same exciting First Person Shooter that tips the scale of awesomeness by Peter Mackay and Chris Swindle; what's different with this one, as explained by NGEvo himself, is that the config menu system program is much simpler, allowing the 'Quakers' (not the oatmeal) to join servers easier. It's quite a handy upgrade especially since p'wnage is rampant in this game and everybody knows the horror of having problems trying to get back to the action when you're itching to score back a p'wn. Interesting enough? Here's how to install it:
1. Use the installer.
2. Load quake from the Eboot loader found inside.
3. In the quake menu, go to multiplayer and set infrastructure on.
4. Go back to the Menu and start a New Game.
5. Once you get the game running, press select and the in game program will be loaded.
6. Repeatedly press select until you get to the Server Menu (see left image above).
7. Press "right arrow" on the "digital move pad" to select it.
8. Then you can choose out of 4 servers with the buttons: Square, Circle, Triangle, Cross (see right image above).
9. Run, gather health and ammo, and most importantly, start shooting anything that runs through your path!
NGEvo has detailed instructions on every possible source of confusion from the most beginner of beginners, just check the readme files inside the download file. There are also options like configuring your own preferred controls, adding more servers, creating playernames, adding new maps and more.
NGEvo also wish to clarify that he does not take credit for the homebrew game itself, he has just simply taken the wonderful work of the creators and has made the installation process slightly easier. He also want to give thanks to Garret Peters for the in-game program. That said, prepare your PSPs and start making waves, or in this case, Quakes!

how do i do infrastructure?
i did the instructions right and i cant play online
can anyone help me with this?
This is great, especially because its multiplayer.. Its just a shame no one is on the servers :(
wow.. #5, someone made it even more simple for you to install... infact... someone made a frigging AUTO installer for you and you don't know how to use it...
no offence but I think your just trying to be cute... heres a cookie.. lol
anyways, haven't downloaded this yet, does it include the full game or the trial version?
i installed but how do u join a infrastructure game?
NiĀ·ger
A country of west-central Africa. The Tuareg and Hausa established states in the late Middle Ages, and the region was dominated by the Songhai and Bornu empires in the 16th century. Niger came under the French sphere of influence after the Conference of Berlin (1884-1885) and was made a separate colony within French West Africa in 1922. It achieved independence in 1960. Niamey is the capital and the largest city. Population: 8,846,000.
TO start an infrastructure game you need to go into options, turn infrastructure on.
THEN you go to new game, and start a enw game. once you are in a new game, hit the select (iirc) button a few times til you get to hte servers. then you just hit the corrseponding button ,and connect!
ALSO< THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!
some of you may notice that you cannot connect to the psp-quake server. this is because the ip address is WRONG.
to fix this:
ocneyou ahve everything installed, go to the folder psp/game/quake _1/id1
open up hte file called quakeservers.cfg in wordpad.
see the lin that says:
bind SQUARE "exec autoexec.cfg;connect 24.178.41.107"
change it so it looks like this:
bind SQUARE "exec autoexec.cfg;connect garretpeters.com"
and voila, you are in hte actual PSP game server. Spread this fix please.
join garret peter's forums for scheduled matches, and et ceteras.
nevermind my instructions on joining infrastructure games. JUST READ THE GODDAMN ARTICLE!
contact me and i'll join the server and play.

i used this a long time ago and i had no problem conecting to the servers so what is so new about htis other than it has an idiot installer.
this is a dum question i know but will it run on 2.80 firmware i wouldn't have asked if they told you on file description
fw 2.70+ is totally homebrew incompatible.
shame, but i'm sure in a year or so you'll be able to
i installed it right but when i selected it from the eloader it crashes. i have 2.0 tiff
Someone please explain how to install this to me...Its so difficult!
just downgrade already
well for those who are having problems loading this like i was. just to let you know i am running 2.6. soooo... i took the older eboot.pbp from the older quake download [quake2+gp]. and replaced it with the one in the quake folder [which should be inside the psp/games] then ooo aah walawalabingban g!!! it worked!!! hopefully this will help the confused.
I guess the PSP Server is down cause it connects, but nothing happens..
Any other PSP friendly servers available?
