PSX2PSP GUI

First off, we wanna thank manias for giving us the heads up for this particular news in our forums, kudos to you my man. Alright then, now that due credit has been given, let's get to the topic at hand.

KingSquitter sure works fast, doesn't he? After releasing PSP GUI PSX2PSP v0.6 a mere three days ago, he's now back with v0.6.2 which, just in case you weren't able to catch v0.6.1 as well, integrates the following changes into the GUI:
  • Fixed a bug with PAL 2 NTSC. If you used to big pictures/sound it did not always find code to patch.
  • Added Abort to both Extract ISO and Convert PBP.
  • v.0.6.2: Fixed bug with converting ISOs. Now there should not be any "PBP file don't contain a ISO." errors when converting ISO files.
Instructions:
  • Place all the normal popstation files (BASE.PBP, KEYS.BIN and popstation.exe) in the "files" folder before use.
  • cygwin1.dll have to be in either c:windowssystem32 or in the "files" folder.
  • Don't have any other files than cygwin1.dll, BASE.PBP, KEYS.BIN and popstation.exe in the "files" folder.
New to all this? Don't worry, you can check out our previous posts on PSX2PSP, so you can get the lowdown on this nifty homebrew app.

Finally, we'd like to get the attention of PSP newbies who got PSPs for Christmas: Welcome to the PSP community! Check out the FAQs, Guides, and Tutorials at our forums. You might want to take a close look at the Guides: General PSP for general PSP stuff (like figuring out the version of "firmware" you have in your PSP), and then you can get into homebrew by reading the threads in the Guides: Hacks, Homebrew and Emulators forum. Recommended reading includes the ULTIMATE Homebrew Guide and the The Ultimate QJ Guide.

Update: Yep, we know. Version 0.7's out already! KingSquitter might not have taken his holiday break at all, but hey, we're not really complaining, are we? In v0.7 of Simple Popstation GUI, the dev's added some new features which include:
  • Support for warning screen
  • Options; now you can set default images and folders
  • Command line support; ex: PSX2PSP.exe "C:\name.iso"

KingSquitter just released 0.7 and QJ is reporting on 0.6.2. This is ridiculous.

Nah I've learned my lesson.

First news item I reported, I didn't get recognition for.

Second and Third news items I report where ignored.

I know better than to share any future information with QJ in any form, including in the comments section.

And I know I'm not the only one. I frequently see people mention that they didn't get recognition for news that they submitted, or that they had news items ignored/rejected.

Lame.

What, you think QJ is run by a machine? Idiots, its run by people, PEOPLE!

People tend to do things like live a life. What you think your the only one who submitted news? what makes you think they didnt already know of the news? and you think that because they have a blog that they can't make mistakes? people make mistakes, you guys need to live with that!

So they are a little behind on the news, considering what they do its an enormous effort. so get back in line guys

Anway, this app is great. People that has DL crappy release from groups which has released EBOOT PSX can with this app convert the EBOOT/PBP file back to the ISO.

learn how to post a hyperlink. that shizzle don't work. $ony updated the emulator to correct a bug specifically for a popstation title. so that would mean possibly greater compatibility or improvements to already playable games for us if we updated to 3.03 oe-a. dark_alex ownz! and thanks king squitter for this great app. it is the best out there! keep up the good work.

Well I checked it, and it worked. My guess is that someone with the power edited the link.

Anyhow, if someone tampers with it again, it is in the maxconsole forums. Kingsquitters thread about PSX2PSP thead on Page 44 post #659. It concerns Dark Alex stating that he'll probably be working on 2.03OE-A, and should have it done by the following day.

# Fark!Guest 2007-01-02 14:21
Well change the first plus sign with an equal sign, the 2nd plus sign into an "+" sign, and the third plus sign into an equals sign. I don't know why it's changing those into plus signs.

# Enough...Guest 2007-01-02 16:05
QJ please, enough of this "popstation" clones! There are too MANY of them. I use psx2psp by zalbart and it's most quicker convertor. If you want change icons - download psx2psp by kingsquitter. If you want change pal2ntsc - download zapper.

But please, STOP update this clones!
