Floppydrive and therealnapster84 has released a new version of his SMS Lua program. This program, even though coded in Lua which some of you think is inferior and not worth your time, can send messages to your friend's (whether it be parent, sibling, friend), cell phone via your PSP. This is something that I've always wanted to use, seeing how I do not own a cell phone myself, and just a PSP. Now, I will surprise all my friends with messages without a cell phone! The program uses the new Danzeff keyboard construction, one of the most efficient keyboard layouts for the PSP! This program will currently only send messages to US (United States) phones. Here's the changes made in this version as listed by Floopydrive -- SMS Send function has been remapped to the left trigger
- Now works with new versions of LuaPlayer
- Code re-written to increase overall speed
- Various bug fixes
Floppydrive has updated the program once again to fix a button confliction error with Danzeff. The new combination is L+R. Floppydrive has made an important note that all users should be aware of – You have to delete all the text found on the screen and re-enter the given information. For example, where it says: “Friend’s phone number (areacode, no spaces or dashes),” you will replace that with your friend’s phone number and area code. Also, you will have to delete the text below that that tells you to place your message here.

Thanks Floppydrive for sending this one in to me!

Use latest LUA player. Do not use File Assistant. The overclocking of FA++ makes it more difficult to type and it also does not actually send any SMS (in my experience)
Sent an SMS, WiFi light flashing and flashing, never stopping. When I called my recipient, the messages were piling up 13, 14, 15, 16, etc. and I look over and the PSP is still flashing it's WiFi light. I don't know how it could be doing constant message sending but the application never STATED in any way that it was 'finished' or 'message sent'. If I'd known it was sent then I would know the continual flashing is a problem.
Other than that - SUHWEET! now we can (one way) communicate with our less technical brethren...

Yoursam, i didnt write this. and i gave you credit in the release forum. i coudlnt do this without you
#45. That could be something in the future
#44. You have to delete the placeholder text "friends phone number (blah blah blah)
(im getting alot of problems with that, i guess ill just take it out since many people cant figure it out)
and please watch your language, its not appreciated
#43
a. Reply Feature (working on it, it will be hard since i have to route the message back to the specific psp, one way to do this would be from your own email address and a psp email checker)
b. better danzeff keyboard speed (im not quite sure whats up with that... )
c. standalone Eboot (if anyone wants to make that for me it would be a huge time saver since its not a necessity, but im working on it)
d. WiFi selector (good suggestion, i will look into it)
e. Get rid of the "insert number here" texts and replace them with permanent texts and a input box (yeah im getting alot of stuff about that, will fix it this week)
And thanks, its nice to know someone cares, its people like you that are the reason that im still developing
#38. Yeah you just have to tap it, if you hold it to long it will send unlimited, to stop it, just press start. But also, it used to have confirmation, but i took that out since after it was done it would freeze it. Ill add it back it. (also standard text messaging rates apply, there are no extra charges )
#39. Its tough, i have to intergrate some sort of email reader into it, and your friends would have to send a reply email. There would be no way to get a text message. Actually i shouldnt say that, but anyways this weekend i will be working on it some more.
