PSPRadio - Image 1

Raf has quite the fan following here with his PSPRadio homebrew, which turns your portable console into a veritable online jukebox. Cutting to the chase regarding this hot item, we bring news of the latest release for his application, which is now on version 1.15.1283. As for what's new:

New Features:
  • (raf) Core: Added AUTOSTART option under USB, instead of it being its own option, and using up screenspace.
  • (raf) Core: Better Suspend/Resume support.
  • (raf) Core: Added Tell/Seek functions to the streams/decoding. Added support to resume to continue playing where it was before it went into suspend mode (localfiles).
  • (raf) Core: Buttons can now be mapped. Look at PSPRadio.cfg for details. Changed the default mappings. SQUARE=CANCEL now. L+R cycle screens. (Button combinations are now also allowed).
  • (raf) Core/Plugin/Version: Changed the interface to .15. Working on a revamped interface. (will be .2). TextUI uses the button mapping to remap buttons if the skin is configured to do so (look at SHOUTcastScreen.cfg for an example).
Bug Fixes:

  • (raf) Core: USB is now working again, thanks to AhMan's for the help.

Known Bugs:
  • (raf) Core: Static IP connections don't work correctly. Seems the gateway is not used as it should.
  • (raf) Core: Module unloading doesn't free up all memory correctly. Even though plugins can now be loaded/unloaded, the PSP can eventually crash as it runs out of memory (after loading/unloading enough times; even though I switched back and forth between the text and 3d UIs over 20 times, and everything worked fine).
Just make sure to view the bundle's README when you open up this app, which can be found at the source link to your lower left.

» i love pspradio but...

It saddens me that something is wrong with the core to cause it not to work with static IP's.... I think it would be infinitely more valuable to me while I'm on campus, but my school assigns each machine a static IP on the network. Anyone know what the problem could be? I mean more specifically than the gateway not being used as it should...

On a side note, I think pspradio could really be instrumental in promoting PSP's on college campuses... Who knows maybe they would even get as popular as iPods... :)

Ok why the hell does every version of this proggy freeze alot and crash on my PSP? It hardly ever connects to the stations, and when it doesn't connect, it usually freezes upon next action.

Dont feed the trolls! thats exactly why they do that, so that you will mention them in a comment and make them feel better about themselfs somehow. People like that need approval, even if its from some anonymous person on the internet. I say just ignore them.

I still use this old version.. runs smoothly on CFW 3.03 OE-C

by KiGui - 2007-02-26 22:08
» static versions

From what I have read, older versions actually require static IPs... You might want to try one of them. There is plenty of support for them still available on the pspradio forum at http://pspradio.sourceforge.net/phpBB/index.php from there you can download PSPRadio Static versions. No gurantees, but probably worth looking into.

Freeze + Downboot?

» same!

Ya I know two other people including myself that have the same kind of problem.

by J Z - 2007-02-27 03:20
» well

Well the freezing on the loading screen means you're trying to run it in 1.5 kernel. PSPRadio now runs in 3.03 mode, so either change the homebrew mode or put it in GAME303 and you should be set. But I'm talking about freezing/hanging/plain doing nothing while you're trying to connect to/change stations. What the heck is wrong here???

yea this app isn't working.

by hpdarkman525 - 2007-02-27 07:57
» For CFW users

put this in the GAME310 folder for 3.10 OE-A'... otherwise it won't work at all

by Sean - 2007-02-27 10:08
» ..

K I got it to run, but every time I try a station it says..

"Error: Error Connecting - Host is unreachable"

Same thing when I try to get the newestest SHoutcast DB..

» TURNS MY PSP OFF

I went back to an older version and it's fine.. hopefully they will fix this
