Raf has released a new pre-release version of PSPRadio. These pre-release versions are to be used at your own risk; they are not as stable as the official/full releases of the application. PSPRadio will allow you to stream music and listen to Shoutcast servers (WiFi Radio). This application works on 1.50 and 2.0 (with the Static Version) and has been reported to work on firmwares above 2.0! As always, this new version has many changes from the previous version! Raf has done most of the updates for this pre-release which include:

New Features
  • (raf) Dyn/Retawq: tips can be overriden with your own html. Just replace APP_Retawq/tips.html!
  • (raf) Dyn/Dev: New export to allow for plugins to access the sound device buffer (for visualization plugins).
  • (raf) Dyn/Core: When the key combo for killing plugins is used, now the plugin will be unloaded as well (L+R+START). (A red -exception- screen may flash will unloading the plugin.. this is expected atm.)
  • (raf) Core: Rename directories per HalfastII directions so that corrupted icons don't get displayed on f/w 1.5.
  • (raf) Dyn/Core: Plugins are now automatically unloaded when they exit.

Bug Fixes
  • (raf) Core: Networking. Network profile enumeration code modification. Based on idea from Danzel from ps2dev forums. This may help people who's profile wasn't showing up.
  • (raf) Dyn/Core: No longer tries to 'continue' a plugin if 'Off' is selected.
  • (raf) Dyn/Core: Now plugin giveup access code is better handled. Retawq can switch to pspradio now seamlessly. (Select the running plugin again to return to the plugin.)
  • (raf/ditlew) Core: If F/W 2.6 is detected, don't poll for HPRM. This allows PSPRadio to work on 2.6 via eLoader.
  • (raf) Core: On exit, just call the game exit syscall. This may prevent the app from crashing when on eLoader. (It still hangs on 2.6)
  • (raf) Dyn/Core: Corrected bug that would cause FSS plugins to report error when loading even if they loaded correctly.
  • (raf) Dyn/Retawq: Reduced most of the drawing issues by decreasing the number of columns by 1.

» hey guys,

hey, can you please try to get it running on 2.60? :(

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 08:01
» hmm..

How about you try and get it working? Until you do, stop asking others.

Great job Raf, this has progressed so much since the old laggy printf version of PSP Radio that I remembered

» Confirm 2.5

I'm listening to Don Henley let the Dirty Laundry rip! It works like a charm on 2.5, EXCEPT there's no way to get out. The program (like the last version) hangs as it's "Shutting Down System" and ultimately crashes the PSP. Outside of that minor issue, does play on 2.5

According to the previous comments about the PRE-RELEASE versions of .38, it did not work, but now we have confirmation :) Your input has been appreciated!

» static/dynamic

what exactly is the difference between static and dynamic?

just wondering

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 09:19
» Question

If I'm using 2.6, do I need the static or dynamic? I heard that 0.97 doesn't support static IP's, but that could be a completely different area. I'm confused =( I'll just try both ">_>

» Ok

Ok nvm, I got it working on 2.6. but another question. I opened the streams and all that, but it kept saying buffering and would keep going from like 0% to 30% and back to 0, but the whole time it would display the song title and give a timer on top like it is playing. Does it take a few mins for it to load or what?

» music

This great program works fine on my 1.5 psp, but i just wanted to know how to get the music in the actual music folder (i.e. not in a sub-folder/group folder) to play. It plays the songs in the sub-folders, but not the songs in the music folder. Anybody else have this prob? Also, in the plugins manager menu (which in the options menu), what are "filesystemserve rs" and "applications" for? They're just stuck to off on mine.

Working with 2.6, static version.

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 10:07
» Nvm again

I got that issue about buffering resolved as well, thanks for the non-help ^_^

» Works great on 2.6

This was the last peice of homebrew that i loved that i hated giving up when i went to 2.6 because of Syphon Filter. Now i have my favorite homebrew app back. This is great!

» Connection Error w/ 2.6

For those who got it to work on 2.6, what settings did you have to use? I tried to list of pre-loaded radio stations but it kept saying connection socket error or something like that.

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 11:42
» nice

» problem w/ shoutcast database

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 12:33
» happy happy joy joy

OMG I'm so freakin happy it works again... 2.6 works like a charm. The only thing you have to do guys to get it to work is hit "start" and choose your WiFi connection, hit "X" to enable it, turn auto connect on, then scroll down to downloading Shoutcast database and your set. I was streaming music in no time. Love it!

I put the folders in game. then I load up bock. normally bock scans and everything is good. But with the pspradio files in their bock does not load. I can take the folders out and it works fine.
